Friendly staff. Good food. Chicken broth vermicelli lunch special was very tasty. Nice interior atmosphere. Free parking on street. Credit cards accepted.
Female waitresses are very green. Needs more formal practice. should have offered hot water refill when the citrus drink pot is still half full not when the finished drinking. It is the details that count for this type of want to be higher end restaurant while playing classical music and relaxing screen savers on tv. This is a + star personally as I like plain classical music and not so noisey like usual chinese restaurants. The drink was just bland citrus water instead of sweet citrus taste since the waitress offered to put in hot water at the end. Some odd situations when we didn’t ask for service waitress came to ask what we wanted. Other times when we wanted service, no one was looking but busy bussing.
-1 star because washroom stinks lacks ventilation, was very tightly spaced. Safety issue with hook in smaller washroom. Can keep up on cleaning.
-1 star as seafood prices are out of market not reasonable. The crab is extremely expensive at dinner. It was $30 something per pound. The dish was about $100 With one order of noodles added Before tips and tax for just two people. The crab was not that big. The market price is about 6.99 to 13.99 a pound at the grocery store fresh uncooked. Seafood restaurants charging double still is reasonable but more than 3 times market price is greedy. Fyi same dish during march 2019 red star restaurant anniversary special’ i paid $33 with tips and tax with noodles and the crab was bigger. I also was at T&T the same month, they are selling single claw crabs for $6.99 per pound. The over charge is steep!
Suggest just going for lunch not dinner if you don’t want too spend that much.We also ordered other stuff. Dinner for two was $$$$..
Don’t order anything that says market price! But if $$ is not a concern still worth checking out.
The washroom after 3rd visit within couple weeks still weeps like horse manure! Definitely meed...

Ordered the Steamed Shanghai Pork Soup Dumpling ($9.75). They were juicy and large but some of them broke.
The Sautéed Clams in Spicy Chili Sauce ($28.95) were huge.
What we really enjoyed were the Pork Chops with Guava Sauce ($28.95) - super tender and juicy pork.
Also had the Hokkien Fried Rice ($29.95) which was quite saucy.
UPDATE - August 2025: Returned for a revisit due to those Sautéed Pork Chop with Guava Sauce ($28.95) - still as good as ever with a light crispness on the exterior. Buddha Delight ($27.95) was saucy with tender egg tofu, cauliflower, mushrooms, cabbage, and gai lan. Vegetarian Spring Roll ($8.75) was hot and crispy. Steamed Pork Dumpling with Black Truffle (siu mai) ($9.75) was very aromatic and the filling was quite smooth....

Food: The curry beef brisket had more of a tomato soup essence which was different from the standard preparation. It could have used some more seasoning and stewed longer to develop more depth in further. The stir fried garlic pea tips were ok but lacked wok hay to enhance the experience. The jasmine tea had no jasmine flavour so that was disappointing given the elevated price.
Customer service: -Staff was courteous.
Parking: -Free parking on the street out front and behind the restaurant.
Overall, given the higher price point of the menu items, the food execution should be...
