Sweet E's Darling Desserts — Restaurant in Vancouver

I am incredibly hard to please when it comes to commercial baked goods. I've learned to go into an encounter with commercial tarts and cakes with low expectations so that I'm not too badly disappointed when it comes time to eat them. Usually, I don't even bother, but I was intrigued by the extremely small tarts that I could see through the window of Sweet E's and thought that I should treat myself with a tart for later. I bought a bourbon pecan tart and a blueberry lime curd tart and was blown away by how perfect they were. Not only were they small and adorable(the blueberries had a charming sparkling glaze), but they were each delicious. The shortcrust was light and buttery, so thin and crisp that it was never in danger of overpowering the tart's flavour. The bourbon pecan filling had toasty pecans in a sugar sauce that was perfectly sweet and salty with just a trace of bourbon. The lime curd in the other tart was exquisite: citrusy, aromatic, sour and sweet at the same time, like a proper curd should be and so unlike citrus curd often is. The blueberries were in season, which was my primary reason for choosing the tart, so they were sweet and juicy and complemented the curd perfectly. After all that, and having at first been taken in by how small and quaint they were, I definitely wished they had been larger! I'll definitely be back for more, as I'm keen to sample the other desserts Sweet E's makes in the hope that they'll be as wonderful...

A wonderful and cute bakery in Kerrisdale opened up by 3 sisters. The desserts are western but fitting for anyone used to Asian desserts that are “not too sweet”, or anyone who wants something sweet and not necessarily a sugar rush.

Lemon Cake - super lemony flavour. 5/5 Black White Cake - very light, chocolate cake that’s not super decadent and dense. 5/5 Chocolate Sandwich Cookie - Yummy but not mind blowing and there are other items I would order before this. 3/5 Caramel Chocolate Tart - Delicious. Usually I can’t have too much caramel cause it’s so sweet but this was well balanced with the chocolate mousse. Tart crust was yummy. 5/5 Orange Vanilla - Great citrus...

This is one of the best bakeries in the Kerrisdale area! The Sweet E' sisters are super friendly and they keep their store immaculate looking and well stocked. Well kept and managed for sure!

I ordered a pavlova- which is a seasonal item from July - Aug and it was my first time ever trying a pavlova. I ordered it because my friend really wanted one, so I thought to come to Sweet E's and let me tell you it did NOT disappoint. This is one of my new favorite items and will definitely be ordering more.

They also have this apple cinnamon muffin which is amazing!! If you have a sweet tooth this is the place to go!
