This is an interesting addition to selection of restaurants on Fraser St. While I thought it was decent, I think this place could do more to stand out.

The exterior is fairly unassuming and doesn't really match your expectations of the interior. As you head inside, you're greeted with a clean and bold looking establishment with bright red seating and some unique decorations. I will say that it's a little tacky, especially with the fake neon sign and the two TVs that don't add much to the experience.

The menu is quite expansive, with a good selection of appetizers, mains, rice, bread and desserts. Prices are mostly what you'd expect for a Indian restaurant in Vancouver, but I was baffled by their choice to sell plain rice for $8 when that same rice comes for free with any curry.

I ordered Chicken Noodles and Gulab Jamun with Ice Cream. The noodles were fairly tasty, but lacked in salt and could have used less oil. The Gulab Jamun and ice cream pairing was delicious, but the portion was a little small.

Service was very good. The staff came promptly when I needed them and they were polite and respectful.

As the restaurant is quite new, they are actively seeking feedback and finding ways to become even better! Definitely...

After arriving in Vancouver via train, we were craving some comforting halal desi food and decided to try Tasty Planet. The menu was impressive, offering a wide variety of dishes, and given how hungry we were, it was hard not to order everything.

We settled on the Daal Makhani, Sizzling Chicken Tikka, Channa Bhatura, and Chicken Tikka Masala. The Chicken Tikka arrived first, and it left a fantastic first impression—succulent, tender, and bursting with flavor. It set high expectations for the rest of the meal. The Daal Makhani and Channa Bhatura didn’t disappoint either; they were flavorful and satisfying.

However, the Chicken Tikka Masala fell short. It lacked the richness and punch that we hoped for, leaving us a bit disappointed.

To round off the meal, we ordered Ras Malai and Gulab Jamun for dessert, but both were overly sweet and fairly average—not the sweet ending we were hoping for.

Our server, Sahil, was a bright spot—friendly, efficient, and attentive throughout our meal. The ambiance of the restaurant was casual and relaxed, making it a comfortable spot for a low-key meal.

Overall, while some dishes hit the mark, others left us wanting more. It’s a decent stop if you’re in the area, but some items could use...

Not your traditional darkly lit Indian Restaurant. This place was warm, bright, and inviting on a wet winter day.

The server was prompt, helpful, and kind.

The food was excellent. I always order fish pakoras at every place we go to and these were up there with the best. Hot, crispy, and flavourful. They served them with a tartar sauce and a lovely cilantro mint chutney that is milder and sweeter than the usual. They paired great with the fish. I find most restaurants, the side chutneys overpower the fish. They knocked it out of the park with these.

We also got the goat curry (tender and flavourful), deep fried momos (incredible), malai kofta (so creamy and rich), and 2 sides of naan (delicate crispy bottom with a lovely stretch to the soft top - perfection). Rice was also included with the meals which was nice considering most places charge extra for a side.

Great value for excellent food and dine in service. The 4 of us would have spent the same or more if we had ordered burritos to go for all of us...
