I had a lovely time with Mara in a chocolate workshop afternoon. We had a lovely small group, which allowed us to have a very intimate and knowledgable session. The chocolate on offer was delicious and I had a wonderful time in the practical portion of the visit, where I was given enough tempered chocolate to create 4-ish bars of chocolate (with various toppings of my choosing.) My only note about the experience is, sadly, something that is most likely out of Mara’s control; the location. 312 on Main is a lovely building, but is definitely in a less pleasant part of the city. Something to be wary of if you’re bringing your kids. That being said, in addition to the workshop, we were also given the chance to purchase additional bars at a reduced price as a thank-you from Mara, which was a lovely bonus. We also received an additional discount via an email the following day. There’s a lot of good to be had here, from the tastes to the ethics; I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning more about chocolate making!

We took a 2 hour chocolate workshop on Valentine's Day and Mara delivered an educational, delicious and fun experience for us. There were 8 of us in total and we started in the cafe part of the Crème de la Crumb, where we went through intros and learned about her journey and then about the history of cacao and health benefits. We then tasted a variety of different chocolates before we moved to the kitchen part of the store where we got hands-on experience of making chocolate. We each took home 2-3 bars of chocolate we made ourselves. Mara was inspirational and attentive with great customer service and I highly recommend this workshop to anyone who likes chocolate! Even more impressive is that she is an immigrant who established a social enterprise in our local community and you can feel her passion. I will pay more attention to the chocolates I buy in the future, and buy "craft" chocolates whenever I can!

My boyfriend and I recently attended the chocolate workshop hosted by Mara. We both have a deep looooove for chocolate, so it was a fantastic opportunity for us to delve into the world of healthy chocolate! Mara's passion for chocolates and her commitment to making a positive impact are truly infectious. Not only is she a master of her craft, but she is also a very friendly and welcoming person, which matters a great deal in today's world. Throughout the workshop, Mara guided us through the history of cacao, shared the crafting process, tested our ability to identify flavours and then invited to make our own chocolates. I appreciate Mara's dedication to source not only the best cacao beans but also her support for local farmers and the community. I am looking forward to visiting her shop to try cacao drinks and chocolates! Thank you, Mara, for sharing your passion and expertise with us.

My husband and I enjoyed a Cacao ceremony with Mara and it was so much more than I expected. The reverence and authenticity that Mara offers this experience with was so heartfelt and she is clearly so passionate about all aspects of it. The evening was a very moving experience and I feel changed because of it. I came away with a lot of education and respect for this plant medicine, and a good understanding of the historical uses and how we can learn from that and bring it all into our ceremonies today. The meditations Mara offered were like slipping into a different realm gently and softly. The Cacao drink itself was so surprisingly delicious and fun to prepare and I felt AMAZING the next day! If you are considering joining Mara on this journey I can wholeheartedly encourage you to go, and take your friends too. Everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy this. I have since re-created the ceremony at home with Mara's careful instructions and It is helping me to connect to myself in a completely different way. Thank you Mara for all that you shared with us and all the...
