Treasure Green is a delight. This shop offers an impressive selection of premium Chinese teas: puehr and oolong of every description, green and white and yellow and black, along with some gorgeous floral teas such as jasmine, osmanthus and chrysanthemum.

Proprietor Olivia Cheung is a second-generation tea expert who takes great care in selecting and importing the best premium teas possible. I've learned over time to rely on her expertise, high standards in tea and ethical practices. Too many tea shops sell lower-grade teas, often with artificial flavouring added. What you'll get here is the real thing: pure teas that can be enjoyed over repeated steepings (the true test of a quality tea). Premium teas do cost a little more up front, but in terms of flavour and longevity (ability to be resteeped 3, 4, 5 times or more) they are far better value in the long run. Olivia also provides abundant information on tea storage and preparation so that you'll get the most out of your purchase.

Recently Treasure Green has started selling smaller "taster" amounts of teas so that you can affordably sample a tea without having to commit to a larger amount of it up front. It's a welcome development because there are almost too many teas to choose from! This makes it easier to work out which ones I like best , without breaking the bank.

Lastly, in July 2017 I attended an introductory Chinese tea ceremony workshop with Olivia as instructor - it was crammed with fascinating information as well as the opportunity to taste diverse types of tea (there were even some delicious snacks!). I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to deepen their tea experience and learn more about traditional Chinese methods of preparing and serving tea.

I won't even talk about Treasure Green's tea wares, which are numerous and tempting - except to say that it doesn't hurt to start with a gaiwan as this traditional Chinese vessel can be used to brew every kind of tea (and the shop has a good selection of gaiwan-s to...

⚠️ Longevity isn’t everything these days. Many companies like TreasureGreen essentially use their reputation to their advantage sometimes. Here is why!

The matcha is not really fresh or even the least bit ceremonial! They tell you to freeze it because the matcha is stale. Definitely the worst matcha I’ve ever experienced. Feels and looks like it is culinary grade but sold as ceremonial. Impossible to froth and taste super bitter :( the worst part is they are claiming it is Organic Ceremonial Grade… this is why it’s difficult to trust even local shops who do not have organic certifications. They will always find a way to shortcut and earn an extra buck because they are not “regulated or controlled” by the USDA or Canada Organic.

TreasureGreen is also very overpriced compared to other tea shops. I've never seen White Silver Needle go for nearly triple the price... @tenrenstea is definitely the better shop. @o5tea in Kitsilano is solid too. Make sure to ask for Jeff! The fresh matcha pictured is the award-winning “Asahi” sold @o5tea . Single-cultivar awarded by the emperor himself x3!!!

⛔️ Lastly, please do not buy Treasure Green’s bamboo scoops aka Chashaku. It's coated with some cheap paint so it cannot withstand any heat. My chopsticks are more durable! #tea #greentea #matcha #treasuregreentea...

I recently visited Treasure Green Tea Company, and I must say it was an exquisite experience! I indulged in their delightful Masala Chai, and to top it off, I picked up some charming tea towels. This place has an enchanting ambiance that is an absolute haven for tea lovers like me.

While some of their teas and teaware might lean towards the higher end in terms of pricing, it's evident that they meticulously align with the quality and authenticity of the products they offer. The taste of the Masala Chai was unparalleled, making every sip a journey of rich flavors and aromas.

What truly sets this place apart is its warm and welcoming staff, not to mention the owner, who is incredibly friendly and helpful. They took the time to guide me through their tea selections, ensuring I found exactly what I was looking for. Their passion for tea is palpable, and it's clear they genuinely care about their customers' satisfaction.

Treasure Green Tea Company is now my go-to spot for all things tea-related. Whether you're a seasoned tea connoisseur or just starting to explore the world of tea, I highly recommend visiting this gem of a place. You won't be...

We have been here a couple of times for their special ice brew tea and the last visit was during the past weekend, the Light Up Chinatown event. We ordered White Tea Mojito, which costed $8. It was very refreshing. It was not sweet, which was great for us. However, if you like sugary bubble tea or drink you will probably not enjoy it. It tasted good. We could taste the fresh ingredients such as mint. I would prefer to have a little bit more honey or citrus to bring out more flavour, or less ice. It was a very busy day for them due to the event as you could imagine. I hope to come back to try the other ice brew tea.

We stopped at this place while waiting to have lunch at Phnom Penh across the street. We had the Champagne Jasmine tea and Dragonfruit Tea (chilled). The tea house is a classy Chinese tea house with very courteous employees who have a lot of knowledge on tea. We ended up buying some loose tea to take home back to Cali. If you are in Vancouver, don't miss out on passing by here to drink one of their chilled iced teas and check out the variety of delicious teas for home. Wish we had this back in Los Angeles. -Rachel and Sonia.
