We were downtown for the skateboard day, my son had just met Andy Anderson, and we wanted to check a skateboard shop. We stumbled on this one, and it is an awesome place. Out in the burbs we have no skate shops, other than the average mall variety. It was great to go to a shop that really loves the sport and has a history with it. There’s a mini ramp in the shop. The owner runs classes on pressing and building skateboards and is super involved in the community and all in all it was exactly what we were looking for, and to be honest we originally weren’t even looking for anything…. There was a huge selection of everything you could imagine or want from longboards, street, old school, surf and some very unique brands and products. I had been thinking about building a Powell deck for ages, and after finding a Caballero Dragon the owner helped me build up exactly what I wanted for the price I was aiming for, set it up on the spot and made sure it was dialled for my riding style. We chatted for a while all about skating in Vancouver and the island over the years and by the end I left with the perfect deck and a ton of stoke to have found such a gem of a shop. My son too, loved it and has been asking to go back ever since. We then went out and went for a skate, perfect day great shop, highly recommend it. Make sure you have some time, and it’s even better if you have an idea of what you’re looking for, if you don’t they’ll help you get exactly what you need. We’ll be back soon!

You can hear the wheels hitting the wooden ramp in the background, walls adorned with boards, and wheels shining on the shelves. This is it, you've found it. That skate shop has character, a soul that tells stories of passion and freedom. I left my board in a closet 5 years ago; I had to find my way back to riding. Les was incredible. He helped me get back on a setup perfectly tailored to my needs. I was so excited when he handed me the board we had just built. Nothing has been overlooked: what do you need, how do you ride, which sensations are you hunting for? A few moments later, my son and I were trying it out, pure joy. Thank you so much 🙏

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

I have done quite a bit of online shopping throughout the years and this is worst customer service I have encountered to date. After reading reviews online I thought I was making the right choice by ordering through them. I was sadly mistaken. Although I am sure there customer service through the store directly is great, customer service for online orders is quite the opposite. Communication for online store orders is terrible to say the least.

First of all I sent a couple of emails inquiring about items in their online store. At first they were helpful. After placing my order, I checked back numerous times throughout the course of 2 weeks to see if my order had shipped. When I finally got through to the seller, they explained to me that they were waiting on an item that wasn't in stock but would be in the next couple days and that my order would be shipped then. I waited about a week and my order still said it was processing. At this time I noticed a small refund on my account from the shop which I then decided to contact the seller about. After getting a hold of them it was explained to me that the item they were waiting for was not in stock and the supplier did not have any stock as well. I then decided after waiting 2 weeks for my order to process and the fact that I wasn't informed about the item that could not be ordered until I contacted them, that I wanted a refund.

I have reached out numerous times to obtain a refund for my order with no reply for several days. Finally when I got an answer I was told I would be refunded. Then I get an email from PayPal saying that the refund did not go through and something went wrong on the merchants end. I have informed the seller of this in multiple emails and have yet to hear back from them. I then decided to contact PayPal and am now in the process of filing a dispute. I still to this day have not heard anything back.

I am not much for writing reviews but after this nightmare of an experience I wanted to warn others who may be thinking of placing an online order through them.

After this whole ordeal I decided to order through another Vancouver shop instead, BOARDER LABS, the customer service was day and night. I wish I would've ordered through them in the first place.

Still to this date I have not heard from them...

Flatespot Longboard shop in Chinatown Vancouver!

Warning! Esk8ter DO NOT COME TO THIS SHOP! If you tell them you are electric skateboarder or esk8 , they hate you! Very bad!

I found this shop on FB about their downhill skateboarding event, and I posted that I wanted to be a volunteer, since I got my Switchblade 38 from Landyatch couple month ago, I also builded my electric skateboard last year, I owned about 7 skateboard in my collection ......Anyway, I was so excited and decided to check out this shop. I got there all the way from Port Coquitlam around 1pm on Thursday, the door was locked. When I looked at the schedule hanging on the door, it says open at 11 am...... Some minutes later, while I still remained my hope and peeked through the glass door, a guy opened door from inside, and said rudely: I'm not open today!..... If you know what you want, be quickly...... ' I was very confused while I squeeze in ...... So I asked if they carry any foot stops or bindings for electric skateboard. The guy said' no' very firmly. I showed him that foot stop on their website, and the guy said ' YOU DON' T SKATEBOARD! THESE FOOT STOP ARE NOT FOR ESK8!..Electric skateboarding is Not skateboard...' I was even more confused, what was that to do with buying a footstop....? I did not know electric skateboarding is Not skateboarding before, thanks for that guys education! ... I remained calm.... I looked around and try to find some signage like' no electric skateboarder allow..... ' or something.... And trying to figuring out what was that to do with buying a foot stop.... I am just want to buy a foot stop! that guy kept saying some stuff like how I was supposed be killed from skateboarding if I use a footstop on my electric skateboard... I told him pateitly that I also skateboarding too, especially just got into downhill stuff, and I thought they are professional, it's great chance to ask some questions .... Buy that guy just could not do business with me, kept talking to himself...... grumpy like my wife..... I finally lost my interest and said ' okay, have a nice day' then walked out, while I'm hearing that guy yelling at my back....... I know he's not in the mood and maybe had a rough day, and I know I maybe not a skateboarder, but keep it in mind, this is Not how to do business, and I won't...

At 36 year old I bought my first skateboard here on Saturday. I had sent the shop a message on Friday inquiring about a few boards and wondering what would be a good fit for me both as a beginner as well as a bigger guy. They responded within an hour or two with some suggestions.

On Saturday I stopped in and met Les, with whom I was messaging the day before. He showed me quite a few boards and let me know about the pros and cons of each, as well as which will be more suited to me.

They have strict protocols in place, which meant I had to wait a few minutes to enter and was more than happy to do so. I would always rather wait, feel safe and like the safety of everyone is being made a priority. This was 100% the case here. This also meant that once I was inside that I wasn't having to fight to get the attention of staff. It was almost like a private shopping experience. I can't say enough good things.

I don't know about everyone else, but prior to going into the shop I felt completely overwhelmed with looking at skateboards and all of the options. Upon entering the shop, Les removed that feeling from me.

In the end I bought a board that I am so completely happy with. It has been increasingly harder these days to feel happy and excited about anything. I got out for a ride tonight and I feel like I have something now that is a positive way to escape the rest of life.

Honestly, this was easily one of the best buying experiences I have had in a long time. Everything felt easy going and welcoming. Definitely...
