I took the string art painting class and it was a lot of fun. The location was easy to find and there was lots of street parking available. Serena gave a thorough demonstration and explanation of how to do the painting, giving different examples and full freedom to paint whatever we wanted, with a large palette of colours to choose from. Since the paintings are quite wet by the end, there are drip trays provided for taking your painting home. It was a fun evening of creativity with a fun piece of art to show for it. Looking forward to trying some other classes there in the future.

If you’re looking for a creative outlet, check out Chu Chu Chinatown. Serena (owner) has lessons in candle making, pottery, and a bunch more fun things. My daughter and I went there today and made 2 candles each. Serena explained each step throughly, and was very helpful if anyone needed help. I definitely will be returning, and trying something different next time.

Came here with my girlfriend to do the paint pouring class and we had a blast! The instructor was very nice and informative. She gave us lots of freedom but also great guidance thought out the experience! It's a great class for people that aren't very artistic but want to make something beautiful!

I first encountered Serena during a virtual local Etsy Market event. I purchased some ceramics from her that were so fab, I have become a repeat customer of hers. Her work is so beautiful I’m so happy to have a small collection of her pieces.

Since then I have attended some of Serena’s classes (metal stamping and pour painting) and will be attending others soon (soy candle making and crocheting). Her art classes have been a godsend, in these covid times. She is super engaging and the classes are so much fun! Her classes are so wholesome and everybody has a great time! I love that I’ve been able to do something out of my comfort zone.

Finally, her covid safety guidelines are on point. She’s doing all the right things to keep everybody as safe as possible. I cannot recommend...

I've taken both private and group classes with Serena and she is an excellent teacher. She strikes a perfect balance between instruction and exploration. She adapts to the level of instruction that students need and makes it all super fun! She is a wealth of knowledge and is so generous with her time and advice. My family loved our private session with her and can't wait to do another.

Her studio is bright and cheerful and has absolutely everything you could possibly need - including a super welcoming vibe! (Not to mention the best Chinese bakery next door!)

In addition to be an amazing teacher, Serena is an incredibly talented artist and her gift shop is somewhere I love to spend time...

While there are MANY options out there for intro pottery classes, I felt incredibly lucky to have landed in Serena's beginner wheel throwing class at West Point Grey community Centre. I read her studio page before my first class, advertising fun + laughs during her sessions and this was exactly what it turned out to be. I can't even believe I made some of the pieces I ended up with after the 12 week course, she is an EXCELLENT teacher; so approachable, friendly, inviting and encourages a supportive + happy learning space. I've already recommended her to anyone interested in doing a pottery class, GO WITH CHU CHU!!! And enjoy many laughs + amazing...
