Virtuous Pie is an interesting experiment, a Vegan Pizza place? Normally I'd say count me out (I like my cheese!) But I got dragged out here so figured I would make the best of it! We shared three pizzas, the Stranger Wings, Curry Mile, and Kim Jack. That is coincidentally also the order in which I enjoyed them. Let's start with the bad (relatively), the Kim Jack. This pizza has Hoisin, Cashew Mozzarella, Kim children, and braised jackfruit on it. The pizza wasn't "bad" but honestly the jackfruit cashew combination was a little too weird for my liking. On the the good, the Curry Mile (see picture). Curry mile is a butter chickpea curry with cashews, pea shoots, and a Mango chutney on top. This was damn good curry (and I live in Surrey where we get exceptional curry!) My only complaint would be that curry on a pizza is still a really weird combo (bit of a theme here). Finally we came to the great, the stranger wings. I have no idea why it's called this but it's excellent. A pizza with Bianca(?), spicy buffalo cauliflower, fried shallots, blue cheese drizzle and scallion. The crust on this pizza just really "popped" for me and of all three this combination felt the most "pizza-like" of the lot. The spice mixed really well and I could have easily had another one! Some final thoughts. All in all I think that this place has an excellent atmosphere, interesting pizza, and a relatively good price-for-pizza ratio. Is it the best pizza ever? No. But for a healthy treat, or if your headed out with you Vegan friends this place is a...

We had a 5 star chocolate icecream in a vegan waffle cone (so yum!) but I would rate it 3 for service and for the icecream sandwich we got alongside it. The matcha icecream has a super mild flavour and the serving was too small for the GF Choc chip cookie sandwich. One of the cookies was really crispy and the other one chewy (so inconsistent). Ordered from the street at the takeout/pickup window and the system was really disorganized. I think the servers take turns responding to street customers and could have benefited from either a takeout only staff on shift or better customer service. We were a party of 4 paying in two bills, our server took my order then asked my friends if they were paying with me. When they said no, the server left to make my icecream and my friends were ignored while people starting lining up. Eventually a new server showed up to take their order then also disappeared. We got the first two icecream and finished them well before theirs arrived. Would be way more efficient to ask if folks are in the same party, give option to pay separately and if not in the same party at least tell them someone else will help them...

Love this place. I used to go to the UBC location when I was a student there and was bummed when it closed, but now am lucky to be living closer to Chinatown so I can come here. It's great vegan food. They make their own vegan cheese and it's fantastic. It's not the most "realistic" vegan cheese but it's delicious in its own right with a great texture. They have both classic pizzas and more creative, unique flavours. Sometimes there are seasonal specials. I've loved just about every pizza I've tried. The crust is similar to Neapolitan style, thin with a puffy tender edge. For dessert, there's a rotating selection of vegan ice creams, "cannoli", and cookies. Haven't tried the cookies, but the ice cream is great with interesting flavours. I feel like this is a pretty slept-on spot for vegan ice cream. The "cannoli" are actually tubular waffle cones with a cream filling, so it's not exactly the same experience as true cannoli, but still tasty and decadent. The waffle cone is nice and crispy. You order at the counter and then staff brings your order to you. They're super friendly and provide...

Virtuous Pie, you have truly made my pi day (3.14). I used to run away from vegan pizzas because I strongly disliked vegan cheese. I found that they always tasted so artificial and plastic. The cashew cheese they use here is phenomenal, it was love at first bite. I couldn’t believe it, I kept thinking “I can’t believe this is vegan,” as I was eating. I ordered the Supreme Pizza for takeout and yes it was supreme indeed. The crust had a crispy edge with a chewy texture that reminded me of Neapolitan Pizza. The flavours were plentiful and meshed well together. I don’t mind olives so I thought they were a nice addition to add saltiness that brings out the flavour of the pizza. 10/10. Since becoming vegan, I have struggled to find a pizza that I love as much as I used to love non-vegan pizza. I’m so happy to have found that today. Thanks VP, you’ll be seeing more of me 🫶🏾❤️
