White Spot Kitsilano — Restaurant in Vancouver

MY PARTNER GOT FOOD POISONING FROM THEIR POT ROAST DINNER AND WENT TO EMERGENCY ROOM. CALLED MANAGER AND EXPLAINED HOW OFTEN WE EAT THERE AND HAVE NEVER HAD A REASON TO COMPLAIN BEFORE, EXCEPT HE IS STILL VERY ILL. WE GO TO THIS STORE ONCE A WEEK AND THE MANAGER SAID THEY HAVE NEVER IN THEIR STORE HISTORY HAD ONE COMPLAINT OF THIS TYPE AND THAT WE WOULD NEVER GET COMPENSATION FOR MY PARTNER'S DISH. STAY AWAY, HE HIMSELF LOOKS VERY UNHYGENIC AND SLOPPY DRESSED. WE DON'T LIKE COMPLAINING, BUT THIS COULD HAPPEN TO SOMEONE ELSE WITH THIS PARTICULAR DISH AND THEY NEED TO ADDRESS THAT.

HOPE YOU HAVE A BETTER EXPERIENCE.

Quick update. My partner is still in VGH hospital and the doctor has taken samples from the oral discharge showing that he has been poisoned with ecoli. Now we have informed our family solicitor who says the way that manager handled such a seriousness situation, he is confident that we will most certainly receive compensation for beyond what we asked for. WE only wanted him to report the issue to appropriate health authority. This post was only to let others know how much they really care. At least now the health authority will make sure that their kitchen and food handling and storage will be thoroughly. Hope that this will benefit this...

Okay, so first time here and my friends said it's awesome. We luckily got here for happy hour. So, we got a bunch of different dishes, so let me review. (I did not try the impossible burger and Cobb Salad, but from my friends, it wasn't anything special.)

Pros on food: The Fish Haddock Burger with ceasar Mediocre and honestly the coleslaw flavor neutralized whatever fish flavor there was. The crispiness was on point, but having jo flavor really shine through this burger, I was left sad and feeling like I had a fish filler at McDonalds. The ceasar was the most disappointing salad I've had. So I started nibbling on my friends dishes.

Prawn Spinach and Mushroom Fettuccine: Dry. More like a dry pasta salad with some shrimp. The prawn was decently cooked, but once you're done with them and left with the rest, it's exhaustivdly dry. She's didn't even finish her dish, just a few nibbles that's it and left the bowl full.

Fries: Average

Okay so let's be real, I just ate at a burger style Denny's. Price was moderately higher for this quality of a meal. I'd rather stick to my more trusted restaurants.

Worth it, if you're hungry it's a fun place and service was spectacular. Our waiter deserves a raise and the speed of food to table was nice. But quality of dishes, 3 stars. Sorry supporters...

We have been coming to the Kits White Spot for 7 years at least twice a month. In all that time I have only ever had to make a complaint once. White Spot to us means the end of the week and we look forward to known and appreciated family meals without fuss. Tonight our orders were slow coming (3 adults, 3 kids) to the tune of 35 minutes. The pirate packs came as per usual (but late), the fries were poor quality compared to usual. The adult meal (a burger) was blackened yet stone cold and arrived 10 minutes after the pirate packs. It was not eaten. Just to add to our disappointment, our adjacent table was hosting 6 twelve year olds (unsupervised) who were misbehaving and throwing food at each other. I complained to the manager regarding the food quality and felt quite let down by her response and her offer of resolution. The offer of compensation means little to us; I prefer to appreciate that these shortfalls in service for a regular and loyal customer family are being addressed, rather than being cast aside. Historically and in our experience, the Kits White Spot upheld pretty high standards compared to other locations.
