I NEVER post reviews.. but this time, I will not be silent. If i can leave a 0 star review I would. Do as you wish with this review. Just know they care more about your money and tip than your wellbeing while dining in their restaurant.
I visited this restaurant for Mother’s Day with my family. An hour into our lunch, my grandmother looked off and was not responding. We immediately sensed the urgency when her hands started shaking and she would not look us in the eyes (she was having a seizure). As she was shaking, she started to puke up her food (i know TMI). She would not respond to us so we knew we needed to call for help.
While all this was happening, not one staff member offered us anything, not a napkin, no water, not even a phone call to get help. Not even our waiter asked if we needed anything. We asked for napkins and we called the ambulance in the midst of all this happening. All we got was judgmental stares from the staff, and some the patrons. The table next to us got creative and shifted their chairs so they didn't have a view of what was going on, bless them.
Oh and it gets better… the cherry on top is, one of the tenured waiters had the NERVE to tell the fireman on the scene that the tables they were moving in order to get my grandmother help and lift her was not done in a way to his standards as it was affecting his other clients’ dining experience. He was telling him how to do it and was being a complete jackass. He cared more about what the other patrons would think than my grandmothers wellbeing, all while we were scared to death thinking she was having a heart attack or a stroke. Thankfully, the fireman on scene had our back and he politely checked the waiter and told him that he cared more about getting my grandmother help than moving the tables to his standards (essentially, politely telling him to F off). All I have to say is… SHAME to this restaurant and the bystander staff who did not extend a helping hand.
To the ignorant waiter who treated us like we were a nuisance to his restaurant and “clients” , I hope you learn to have empathy and treat other’s with respect and dignity. If this happened to your mother or grandmother, i hope other’s would treat them with kindness and offer them help. To the owner of this restaurant that was onsite and didn’t come out to see if we are okay,...
Read moreBest place to get spoilt for your birthday, even on working week night. Tony was very attentive from the moment we were seated. He gave us a good suggestion on the drinks as he said, the wine you choose should compliment your food. I’m not a wine lover so I told him to suggest me a white wine on the sweeter side and he got me Rosè. As you can see in my photos, though the lighting for food pictures was not great, our food selection was also with some help from Tony, our server. He explained the menu and picked what could be our favorites as it was our first time. Everything was on time, and we did taste a lot of beautiful dishes that were really made to perfection. The portions are big and nice and it will fill you right up. Do try the Gnocchi con Cinghiale; wild boar and tomato ragu, it’s an absolute delight. The meat was perfectly done and it just melted in my mouth! I will also write highly about el Pescatore Risotti, the grilled calamari and panelle di ceci. Oh, the ceci! I’ve never had a dish quite like it and I must say I’d like to go back and have it again. For dessert, Tony suggested that they had some in house specials, something to do with fruits and the other was the chocolate with mousse. I apologize, I was swept away with the delicious taste of the all dinner we had, that I completely zoned out when it came to paying attention to the names of the dessert. But, I always tend to go for anything with chocolate in it and I did make the perfect choice to end my fantastic birthday dinner. Fresh whipped cream with a home made mousse layer in between, the chocolate dessert was lip smacking good. The place is tucked away in a cute little town off highway 400. The Christmas lights are really pretty if you’d like to go for short walk after a full dinner. It’s a quiet neighborhood with a lot of locals and foodies come to. Finding a parking spot could be a little difficult as the parking area behind the restaurant is quite small. But parking on the streets was not a hassle. The place is well kept, the decor is nicely done and the washrooms are super clean. It’s a wonderful place for family and friends and also kids. I’d recommend it to everyone and will definitely go back for...
Read moreWe had the experience of dining at this eatery this evening with a group of friends . Our server had a great sense of humor right upon arrival. She did the best she can as it was a full house. Our reservation was booked for 6pm we were seated on time. We had received a txt earlier in the day making us aware that there is a 2 hr window for us to hold up the table during certain time slots - totally exceptable demand on a nice summer evening for an establishment to turn over multiple seatings. However, at 8pm the owner of the establishment displayed disgusting behavior towards our server, in a loud temperment - wether on purpose or knowingly speaking as loud as he could right behind our table demanding her to get rid of our table. If he had taken a minute to look at his kitchen ins/outs he would have been made aware that our appetizers & main plates did not come out in a timely fashion which delayed our service, which honestly was not an issue until he acted in this fashion in front of customers. The server knew and saw I had heard his out burst and reacted as best she could, saying we only had time for a "quick espresso" as she was asking us to leave. ( not her choice obviously ) needless to say no dessert menu offered no time for digestive either ... just a bill. Being from this business back ground there were multiple ways to handle this situation. If the other table had arrived and our table was not available yet could simply explained there was a delay..also let's keep in mind. This episode happened at 8:03 pm as mentioned our plates had just been cleared. Awful display by management. Sad. Place was really nice ...but be sure to swallow your food quick and do not waste time on asking about wine or drinks.. thank heavens we all didn't take wine as we usually do - we would have had to bring it home with us. Hopefully staff realizes the environment. Not a peep out of the open kitchen in high heat and stress...but lots of hot air from the...
