Excellent! The cake was moist and not too sweet! (I got the orange chocolate cake)
July 24th Update: Almost a year later, the Chocolate Orange Cake is still phenomenal! Layers are moist and not dry. Within the cake are orange peel shavings enhancing the flavour of the cake, making its name hold true. The mousse is very delicious, and tastes VERY fresh. I definetly suggest the 10" size as you WILL enjoy the leftover cake in the days following your special event!
December 31st 2021 Update: Again, quality is still superb. The cake top was decorated with December festivities which shows their attention to detail. Will definitely purchase again.
Feburary 19 2022 Update: Tried the English Truffle cake and this is equally as good as the orange chocolate cake. The creme on the cake is very fresh, not sweet, just like the clotted cream in the UK. Inside, lots of fruit and is also fresh. These two cakes may be my favorite!
Jan 6 2023 Update: Chocolate orange same as before. Perfect, fresh, hints of orange. Delicious!
June 10th 2023 Update: Mango moose cake is delicious. Not too sweet. But because it's moose cake, it needs to be stored colder than normal.
July 22 2023: Very delicious chocolate orange cake...
March 30 2024: Got the walnut chocolate cake this time. Very delicious. The whole family liked it. Quite dense inside in a good way. $40 now, instead of $35.
April 6th 2024: Tried the berry hazelnut cake. Inside quite dense like the walnut chocolate cake which is very good.
June 30th 2024: Felt a bit adventurous this time and ordered the Raspberry Vanilla instead of chocolate orange... very good, not too sweet, perfect.
August 3rd 2024: Chocolate Mouse Cake. Not bad, not too sweet. However, I prefer the chocolate orange cake.
Dec 14 2024: Back to chocolate orange cake. Delicious as always.
Jan 25 2025: Got the Chocolate cheesecake this time. Wow, cheesecake is delicious. Chocolate cream isn't too sweet which is perfect.
Feb 8 2025: Apple pie this time. $25 for the pie. Very fragrant, and huge for the price. Also got the Duet Cake. Buttercream and vanilla. Pretty good, not too sweet.

Read moreI ordered a cake from Chocolada, a bakery that specializes in European-style cakes. I called ahead of time to let them know I would be picking it up just before closing, and they assured me that everything would be fine. However, when I arrived, an elderly woman was at the counter. I asked her, "Hey, I'm here to pick up my cake," and she responded as if I were in a bookstore, as if they don’t even make cakes.
This experience highlights my concerns about visiting European areas, where customer service often seems lacking. Everyone appears to have a bad attitude, regardless of whether they are at work or not. They clearly have never heard of hospitality, as there was no welcoming smile or greeting. The woman made unprofessional remarks that left me feeling uncomfortable, and I regret having gone there. I hope the cake is worth it because the experience was definitely not. After attempting to enjoy the cake, I realized it had been frozen for an extended period. Despite leaving it in the fridge for over 24 hours to defrost, it remained largely frozen. This experience underscores an important consideration: ordering a cake 24 hours in advance does not necessarily ensure a freshly made product; it may instead result in receiving an ice cube that takes more than 24 hours to thaw.
While the flavor of the cake was moderate, the lack of freshness detracted from the overall experience. It's important for customers to be aware of this potential issue when placing their orders. In conclusion, I can't recommend...
Read moreOrdered an 8 inch cake here 5 days in advance for an early Mother’s Day celebration for pick up at 1PM. They asked if I wanted writing on the cake and I requested them to write “Happy Mother’s Day”. They also asked me when I’d serve the cake which I thought was odd but told them 7PM same day I pick it up.
When I picked up the cake it had no writing on it. When I asked where it was they said they don’t do that service here and only had Happy Birthday plastic signs. Then why’d the first worker ask in the first place? Disappointing to have a blank cake for a Mother’s Day celebration.
Worst part is we ate the cake around 8:30PM and discovered it was FROZEN. The cream was dense and the sponge cake was chalky, frozen and had an unpleasant mouthfeel when we tasted it. We tried salvaging it by microwaving each slice for a few seconds. Shouldn’t need to improvise how to serve a cake when I order it in advance from a local bakery.
I’m assuming the worker asked when I’d be serving the cake so their team would know when to take it out of the freezer in their kitchen to defrost before I picked it up. Really goes to show that the product is not fresh and even if the cake was made in advance, it’s not handled properly to be ready for customers.
I regret giving this place a try. Staff are not very welcoming and customer experience feels transactional. I had trust in this business to help contribute to my family’s Mother’s Day festivities with their desserts but got a frozen, blank pre-made cake for...
