Came here on a Sunday for their $10 Haddock & chips deal. This deal is available on every Sunday and Monday while there is also a $11 Cod & chips deal on Wednesdays. With regards to this $10 deal, prices here are very reasonable, considering the portion of fresh cut fries and it’s battered haddock fish. In no way, both the battered haddock and the fresh cut fries were greasy at all. The fish was also not heavily battered that undercut the proportion of flesh that you’ll get. Apart from the fish & chips, the fish chowder here impressed me too. For $3+, you get a medium sized bowl of a slightly thick consistency soup with generous portions of fish slices. On a cold day, getting the perfectly seasoned fish chowder was not a bad idea at all. There was also no need to garnish it with the complimentary pepper seasoning on the table. Apart from the food, the staff here were very friendly and attentive to our needs such as providing us with hot sauce along with the tartar sauce. With the faultless service and very value for money food at this establishment, I already see myself being a regular here on days that have the $10 haddock & chips deal

Overall really nice Fish n Chips spot. Food is good and the servers are always so nice. One time I left my glasses and phone behind and the server went out to chase me in the cold weather to let me know I forgot them. The atmosphere inside is a bit dead tho, inside the resturant the lights were a bit gloomy and they had no music playing. In the summer I eat outside in their patio just so it feels more alive and bright. My husband also found 2 small bugs (ants maybe?) in their vinegar bottle which was a bit gross but we just didnt use it.. Overall good resturant, not a bad place at all. Update: Went back to eat their Wednesday Cod special and ate inside the resturant since it was cold outside. It had music and I think the lights were brighter compared to last time!

This spot is a great choice if you're craving fish and chips! They have good specials. I had the haddock with chips and coleslaw for just $12.99 (and no tax until February 15, 2025!). The haddock was perfectly cooked: hot, flaky, and flavorful. The fries were thick, crispy, and served piping hot. Generous portions of ketchup and tartar sauce were provided in large bottles, perfect for those who love to slather their food. The coleslaw was also good but could have been a little more chilled. The portions were generous, and the service was quick and friendly. The decor is modern, bright, and functional—nothing too fancy, but clean and comfortable. Overall, a solid choice for a casual, budget-friendly meal.

We have visited Thornhill Halibut House several times now after its recent opening. We previously used to go to HH in Markham on a Sunday for lunch and were never disappointed there. The first time we went to Thornhill we were given a leaflet full of discount vouchers which only ran out on 1st May, so each time we went back we were getting 2 x Halibut + chips for $16, or 2 x Haddock + chips for $13 etc - fantastic value! As for the food itself, it's first class. As usual, there are too many fries and we've never seen anyone eat all of them, ever, but the batter is crispy and the fish soft and tender inside for all types of fish. The menu is reasonably extensive, e.g. Greek food and different types of salads, all tasty and plentiful. HP sauce, tartar sauce, proper malt vinegar all supplied (sounds simple, but in some fish + chip restaurants, they are not, which is not authentic at all!). The service is great, yes, they were extremely busy in the first week of opening and it was extremely hectic, but even given the odd problem, the food is always delivered within around 10 minutes, which is excellent. There is plenty of parking at the back of the restaurant, where Walmart, Bulk Barn etc are. Just one or two areas of improvement - change the oil every single day, as just once or twice it was apparent that it wasn't done (as opposed to Markham which changes every day). The only other thing is that there is no breakfast menu (they say they are not allowed to offer it, not sure why), BUT they have added the most amazing cheesecakes from The Cheesecake Factory, which are absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. The restaurant is much less busy now, which means there is always a booth, but take out services are...

When I first arrived I was seated pretty quickly but then it took about 25 minutes for my waitress to come. She then took out orders and I was pleasantly surprised to see grilled fish on the menu. For some reason they would only grill halibut so I ordered that, garlic bread and fries and a glass of water. It took about 7 minutes for my water to come and then maybe 15 for all my food. The garlic bread was quite nice but the fish was the worst food I had ever had from a reasturaunt. It was thick unappitzing and basically flavourless. It just looked like square of white cheese All you could really taste was the grease from the grill. I ate that with my garlic bread to try to give it some flavour but the texture was unbearable. Once I finished the fish I ate the fries which were the worst fries I’ve ever had period. Fish and chips places are usually famous for their fries but these were flavourless. They probably would of been ok if there was salt on the table but low and behold there wasn’t. I was drenching them in my ketchup to try to give them some flavor. My waitress actually forgot one of the orders at my table. So I’m giving this one star because all the food was awful and no where near reasturaunt quality. It took ages for my server to even come my table in the first place. The food came pretty quick but honestly how long does it take to make fish. The fried fish probably isn’t that bad because it all tastes the same. The final verdict is I would 100% not recommended this reasturant or at least the fries and Grilled...
