I came here on a Sunday evening, around 6 pm, as a table of 8. We made reservations prior to, just in case, to ensure seating for our big group. The place was steadily busy but there were still empty tables on a constant basis for anyone who walked in.
We walked into an already set table with plates, cutlery, cups, and water, alongside menus. Upon entering, the first thing I noticed was how "stuffy" and hot it felt. It did cool down as the night went on, I believe because they kept the front door open.
Though the restaurant isn't big, their layout was very good, making it feel spacious and comfortable to dine-in.
We ordered the following: Thai Platter: This came with taro fritters which were very light, crispy, and not greasy at all! It also came with 4 of each spring rolls, summer rolls, wings zeed (very flavorful), and chicken satay (good sized pieces). Hence, this is great for sharing and trying out all their different appetizers. This is served with plum sauce, peanut sauce and lime chilli sauce (which was sour and salty, a little strange). Smoked Chilli Clams: this was very flavorful and tasty. It also came with a big side of rice, which was nice to mix the sauce with. Mango Salad: the green mango chunks were on the thicker side and resembled fries with a tart flavor profile. This was paired with onion, carrot, mint, bell pepper, peanut and cashew nuts. Shrimp Pad Thai: there was a good amount of shrimp added and they were pretty big and tender as well. Overall, I wish this dish had more flavor. Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken: though Pad Thai is usually my go-to, I actually preferred this Pineapple Fried Rice as it was very flavorful and not greasy. I'd definitely ordering this again. Mango Sticky Rice: this was one of the highlights of the meal, very well-made! You can't try this spot out without ordering their mango sticky rice. Crispy Milk Roti with Coconut Milk Sauce: this was an interesting dessert to try. I didn't like that it had an oily feel and taste to it, but it was quite yummy.
As a table of 8, the gratuity of 18% was automatically added. This felt a little steep for the service we received. Our server was amazing and you could tell she was doing her best, but the place was understaffed, not having enough people to service the size of the place. Many times, we found ourselves trying to wave someone down but found it difficult since we were at the back of the restaurant and the two employees were very busy running the whole place by themselves. As an example, we ran out of water on many occasions and had difficulty getting refills.
The restaurant was clean, as well as the washrooms which were spacious single stalls, good for...
Read moreWe’ve been trying a lot of highly rated food spots lately and BKK had a 4.9 google star rating. We went around 3pm on a Friday with no reservation.
The location was nice with ample parking. We walked in and requested a table for two. We were led to a smaller table at the back of the restaurant. Table was clean and I got the comfy bench so no complaints.
The table was a bit small. That was my only issue. We ran out of space on the table and even after re-arranging the plates to make more space, it was still a bit tight. But that didn’t take much away from the experience.
The menus looked new (and clean) I ordered a lemonade drink, the glass noodles with tiger shrimp. My partner ordered a Thai beer, sea bass with broccoli and we got the chicken wings to share.
The food came out surprisingly quick. The server kept us up to date with wait times. Everything looked delicious and was presented uniquely.
My dish came out in a cute bowl with a lid. It was uncovered and the lid was taken away. My drink has a piece of lychee and pineapple on a toothpick across the top of the glass. These small touches boosted the experience for me.
And then the flavors. OMG. Everything was so fresh and delicious. The portions sizes were great and the tiger shrimp were huge. The sea bass was cooked to perfection. And the chicken wings, oh I’d go back just for those. They were also well cooked and the flavour had my taste buds excited.
The server was friendly. She kept coming to check on us and helped to maintain a clean environment.
Such a good lunch. I’d definitely eat here again and I recommend this place to anyone looking for a chill date spot to have...

came here cause i was craving thai food, was greeted by a v nice lady (owner perhaps?).
sat down and ordered
the taro fritters - came quickly and tasted so good!! the sauce it comes with has a delicate peanut flavour even though its a sweet thai sauce with chopped up peanuts, not over powering. and the taro fritters themselves were really light and didnt taste oily, battered well and full pieces of taro not just shredded.
thai ice tea - strong tea taste which u want, and not overly sweet, i liked it a lot, some thai places overly sweeten them
green curry w cocunut rice (+1$) - the coconut rice was amazing, it wasn’t soupy or soggy and it wasnt an aggressive coconut taste, you can still smell it and taste the subtle sweetness. the curry itself was really good as well, everything was very fresh and it was a great creamy curry yum, had a great bite to it too. big portions
basil eggplant w chicken (+2$) - the sauce was so good we ended up using it on the taro fritters as well, flavour was punchy and there was a lot chicken and eggplant a good mix. big portions.
service was phenomenal quick cook time and really nice
overall such a good experience and cant wait to come back and try more food (again all my pictures were taken after we had basically finished...
