During my brief time working at the Harvey’s location on Bathurst and Steeles, I encountered a number of challenges that made the experience difficult and disappointing. While there were some positive aspects, particularly the support I received from a team member named Dixant Seth, the overall handling of staff communication and management left much to be desired.
I initially changed my availability due to school commitments and was unexpectedly told that I had been let go. After speaking with management and clarifying the situation, I was allowed to return. Unfortunately, shortly after that, my position felt unstable again—this time due to feedback provided by a specific manager. While I do not recall her name, she had visible tattoos and consistently treated me with a cold and dismissive tone, unlike how she interacted with other staff. I often witnessed her being playful and friendly with other employees, while I was met with the opposite. It left me feeling unfairly singled out and unsupported.
The training itself was rushed, and the lack of consistency in how I was treated versus others made the workplace feel uncomfortable and discouraging. As a new team member eager to learn and contribute, I expected fair treatment, respectful communication, and constructive feedback.
I want to acknowledge and sincerely thank Dixant Seth, who stood out as one of the few team members who provided encouragement and genuine support during training. His professionalism and kindness made a real difference.
I hope this feedback encourages management to reflect on how new employees are onboarded and treated, and to ensure that all staff—regardless of background or availability—are given equal respect and support.
Edit: I remember the name of the manager. Her name is Christine. She was very cold to me. I do not know why does she act like that in the kitchen. Now, I work in a company. And she is still there. I hope she does not treat new people rudely and treat this review...
Read moreIts my first time going to this specific Harvey’s. I don’t usually eat at Harvey’s and since I’m waiting for my appointment at the MCI doctor just downstairs of Harvey’s I decided to get something quick.
I ordered the angus with bacon and cheese with just the drink but quickly changed my mind and wanted the combo with fries and drink since its only a dollar difference…anyways I proceed to tell the cashier “Caroline” short south asian lady …Caroline automatically looked annoyed when I told her that I wanted a combo..she responded with an attitude “oh Its already sent in” …she then proceed to tell her coworker to fix it for her. (Keep in mind, I haven’t paid yet so i do not know why she said it was sent in) …she also spoke in her language (Filipino) which I fully understood….. Anyways, I told her never mind if its so much of a hustle for her..I paid and walk away!!

Read moreThe Harvey's at 800 Steeles Ave West has become my favourite. I've been a customer of many Harvey's restaurants for over 40 years, and this location is head and shoulders above the rest. The food is always excellent, the dining areas and washrooms are impeccably clean, but in particular, the staff members are absolutely terrific. I usually order using the app, then eat at the restaurant. I have come to know two team members; Krizia and Suniti. They immediately recognize and greet me as soon as I arrive. Both are incredibly friendly, and super efficient. They always go above and beyond to ensure my experience is a wonderful one - they even know my food and drink preferences. I always look forward to seeing them, and to enjoying very well made food - kudos to the cooks as well! Many thanks to Krizia, Suniti, and the rest of the staff. You all make the experience a fantastic...
