TLDR: Great food, service by the employee (Nitu) was exceptional. Issue with transparency of extra charges.
Our experience at me•va•me was satisfactory overall, but there were some significant issues that need addressing. We chose the build-your-own-bowl options: the Chicken Shawarma Bowl and the Roasted Harissa Cauliflower Bowl. Both were enjoyable, and the quality of the food met our expectations. The girl at the counter (Nitu) serving us was great and very helpful.
However, I was taken aback to discover that while feta cheese is included in the list of fillings as a general topping, it was communicated that it is a premium topping requiring an additional $1.00 fee. This critical information was absent from the menu and merchandise listings, which is unacceptable.
As customers who have visited nearly every me•va•me outlet in the GTA, we had hoped for better transparency. In our conversation with the owner, he acknowledged our feedback but claimed it was the first time they had received such a comment in their year of operation. This response felt insufficient. It is not merely about the extra dollar; it's about consumer rights and principles.
To me•va•me, if you intend for a filling to be a premium filling, kindly indicate it on the menu for full...
Read moreI absolutely loved everything about this restaurant! It was my first visit, and Sam was amazing and she explained everything so well. Even though I arrived close to closing time, we were served hot falafel and soft bread. The sandwich was massive, flavorful, and incredibly filling.
The restaurant and counter were spotless, which added to the overall positive experience. As someone from the Middle East, I can confidently say that many of the ingredients and menu items are authentic and delicious. I also really appreciated the creative sauces and toppings—they made the meal even more enjoyable!
Sam was fantastic and went above and beyond to make sure we got our food just the way we wanted it.
The only thing that stood out as unusual to me was the baba ghanouj. It included mayonnaise, which is different from the traditional recipe that typically uses tahini and occasionally yogurt. While I didn’t try it (since I don’t eat mayonnaise), I think it’s great to see a creative twist like that—it might be delicious for others!
Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely be visiting again soon. Thank you, Sam, for your...
Read moreI went here to try a falafel sandwich as I was around the area. Based on the online reviews, I expected good quality food and service but I was really disappointed. First of all the server who was making my order was not at all friendly and did not put enough toppings. For e.g she will put only one or two pieces of anything I ask for. I believe they were just trying to save up on that as expected by owners. Thereafter,I asked her to put in more sauces but still she will only put little even after my repeated requests. After that, I thought the food would be at least good to taste but it was horrible. The roasted veggies were tasting so bitter (broccoli, peppers etc.) and not fresh at all. The falafel was so soggy and it felt like I was just eating raw chickpea flour. I threw my entire sandwich in the garbage as I absolutely can't eat it. For all this I paid $17-$18 for one sandwich. I was so disappointed. There are much better places than this one in Woodbridge that serve good quality food at a reasonable price ($10-$12). I would not recommend anyone to visit here based on...
