My Roti Place My Dosa Place - best Indian restaurant — Restaurant in Vaughan

Where do I start? Ok. From the beginning. I tried this place for the first time, several months ago, when they first opened. The roti with butter chicken and the spiciest sauce they have... the flavors were delicious, but the sauce gave me the hiccups. So, for my second visit, I toned it down a notch to hot and the flavors again were phenomenal! Today, I had the butter chicken roti with medium spicy and I am telling you.... it's absolutely perfect and I am dreaming about this all night for sure! This place is consistent with generous amounts of butter chicken and an incredible roti. It's always served fresh and very hot. I enjoy mine in the parking lot.... no way I can drive home as those aromas are so mouth-watering and pleasant... I just have to indulge myself in this roti right away! Be prepared, when you order, you have to wait, because your roti is being prepared and trust me... it's worth the wait. There is a reward. A sweet ball with liquid dessert that seriously makes the meal complete! This is my most favorite spot for comfort food, or any time of day... or night! They're open late. I highly, without hesitation, recommend this place. See you again real soon. Thanks for the amazing food...

The food was good, but I think it's a shady business practice to ask for tip when someone orders on the app and then sneakily ask for an additional tip when they pay at the restaurant like the first tip didn't go through. I ordered on the app and included a tip. When they cashed me out at the restaurant, the machine asked for tip again on the whole amount of my order in the app including my original tip on the order - I didn't realize this and assumed that my original tip was not put in by the person checking me out. Little did I know that he put it in and had the machine ask me for tip again. Only when I checked my bank statement did I realize that they essentially had me double tip. I am happy to tip generously, I just don't think this is an honest business practice.

Update: Based on the owner's response, I wanted to be clear that I'm not saying that the waiter added a tip; I'm saying that I already tipped on the app and the waiter deliberately had the machine ask me for a tip again on the total amount from the app (that didn't show that it already included my tip) thereby making me tip twice. We found this place completely by accident! We were in the plaza and were looking for a place to eat, and saw that this place had great reviews and we LOVE Indian food so thought we'd give it a try.

We are SO glad we did. My goodness. Rakesh was awesome to deal with -- very kind, knowledgeable and personable. He provided excellent recommendations for us. We decided to get shrimp biryani, saag paneer, thambi masala fries, and roti. Everything was fresh, hot, delicious, with tons of flavour and just the right amount of spice. I usually love really spicy food, but this time I just got medium spice, and it was PERFECT. I wouldn't have wanted it any hotter. So for those of you who love spice, you may want to order a bit milder than what you usually order at other places.

It was also so reasonably priced with huge portions. We will enjoy our leftovers for lunch tomorrow.

Awesome food, awesome service, awesome selection of delicious Indian food... what more could you ask for! I had to call them on the phone right after I finished my meal to tell them how much we enjoyed it. They were so gracious and so nice.
