Pho Lan: Vaughan's Hidden Gem for Authentic Vietnamese Cuisine Nestled in the convenient Tuscany Place shopping center with ample parking, Pho Lan has become my go-to destination for truly authentic Vietnamese flavors in the GTA. After years of searching across Canada for dishes that match my memories of Vietnam, this bright, spacious restaurant - just minutes from Canada's Wonderland and Vaughan Mills - consistently delivers an unparalleled culinary experience. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by both the welcoming owners and the inviting aroma of traditional Vietnamese cooking. Their dedication shines through in every detail - from the spotless dining area to the carefully sourced ingredients imported directly from Vietnam. This commitment to authenticity is rare to find, especially at such reasonable prices. I still cannot forget their mango salad - a symphony of textures and flavors - crisp mango tossed with plump, springy shrimp, aromatic herbs, and crunchy shallots in a perfectly balanced dressing. The tofu with shrimp paste sauce has that bold, funky flavor that transports me straight to Hanoi's street food stalls. Their squid cakes achieve that perfect balance of springy and chewy-yet-tender textures, served with a dipping sauce that's pure umami magic. What makes Pho Lan truly special is how they've created this authentic Vietnamese oasis in such a convenient location. Whether you're spending the day at Wonderland, shopping at Vaughan Mills, or just exploring Tuscany Place's other offerings, it's worth planning your visit around a meal here. Their sweet rice with mung bean, fragrant with crispy shallots, makes for the perfect comfort food break. For diners who appreciate true Vietnamese flavors and a comfortable, accessible dining experience, Pho Lan in Tuscany Place is more than just a restaurant - it's a culinary destination that stands out in Vaughan's diverse food scene. The combination of authentic recipes, quality ingredients, and ideal location makes this one of the most rewarding Vietnamese dining experiences you'll find in the Greater...
Read moreDuring our visit to Pho99, we indulged in a variety of dishes to experience the full spectrum of their offerings. The chicken grilled rice combo, shrimp rolls, and vegetable stir-fry with tofu each offered unique flavors and textures.
Chicken Grilled Rice Combo: The combination of tender grilled chicken and fragrant rice was a delightful marriage of flavors. While satisfying, a slightly larger portion would have been welcomed.
Shrimp Rolls: Unfortunately, the shrimp rolls fell short with an imbalance in the ratio of shrimp to rice noodles and vegetables, leaving us craving more substance.
Vegetable Stir-Fry with Tofu: This dish, on the other hand, exceeded expectations with its filling and flavorful profile. The generous portions and tasty combination of vegetables and tofu made it a standout choice.
Service at Pho99 was efficient, ensuring prompt delivery of our dishes. Although lacking in extra touches, the staff ensured a quick and hassle-free lunch experience.
In conclusion, while Pho99 offered a mixed experience, with hits and misses among the dishes, the vegetable stir-fry with tofu stood out as a flavorful and filling option. If you find yourself craving Vietnamese fare, it's worth giving Pho99 a try, but perhaps consider sticking to their standout dishes for a more...
Read moreFISH SAUCE tastes 👍, it’s not diluted with vinaigrette and sugar. The PHO soup is not oily and is flavourful. Bonus, I wasn’t thirsty after returning home. The shape of the noodles complements the Pho and vermicelli.
Welcome to the neighbourhood. Pho Lan took over Pho Mi 99 and opened 2 months ago. This modern styled restaurant is bright, open and clean looking after the renovations. It’s located near Vaughan Mills mall. We originally wanted to go to Pho Mi 99, but was surprised to see it gone. We did the drive by to check the interior of the restaurant from the car. Then we got out and peered in and decided to give it a try.
Glad we dropped by. It will be my go to for Vietnamese cuisine when going to Vaughan Mills or Canada’s Wonderland.
They take cash, debit and credit card. When you are ready to leave, just walk to the front and say how you are paying your bill.
Hot tea or cold water is complimentary. Vietnamese music is played in the background from an overhead television. This eatery is big and can accommodate large groups of people.
Lots of free parking.
Forgot to mention, Pho Lan not only took over the restaurant, but they took over the social media account (reviews) of the former Pho Mi 99. So the reviews are mixed between...
