I recently dined at Touro and I must say, it was an absolute disappointment from start to finish. This all-you-can-eat restaurant managed to fall short in every aspect of the dining experience.
First and foremost, let's talk about the main selling point of an all-you-can-eat establishment - the food. To my disbelief, the servers barely brought any food around. For a place that boasts unlimited servings, I found myself waiting endlessly for the next course, only to be disappointed by the meager offerings that finally arrived.
Let's discuss the bread situation, shall we? The cornbread was nothing short of a dental hazard. It could double as a doorstop, and biting into it felt like a workout for my jaw. As for the so-called "cheese bread," I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw how tiny the portions were. Bite-sized, indeed, if you're a squirrel.
Now, let's delve into the steak debacle. The server offered two options: well-done or medium rare. The well-done steak was an abomination - dry, crunchy, and devoid of any flavor. On the other hand, the medium rare steak was a disaster of its own. It was undercooked, bordering on raw, and chewing on it was like wrestling with rubber. To make matters worse, a piece of this undercooked steak dripped blood onto my table, which was beyond revolting.
In the midst of this culinary catastrophe, the only saving grace was the bacon-wrapped chicken. It was a rare glimpse of something enjoyable amidst a sea of disappointments. My dining companion opted to stick to the buffet, a decision that spoke volumes about the quality of the steak.
A word of caution to anyone considering a visit - heed the warning signs. The first time I entered the restaurant a few days prior, it was practically deserted. Yet, foolishly, I returned for a meal, only to find that it remained empty, which should have been my cue to flee.
Let's talk about the bill. A whopping $69.99 for this disastrous dinner? It's absurd. Especially when compared to the likes of Copacabana, a competitor that offers better quality at a lower price point. If you're looking for a dining experience that won't leave your wallet crying, go to Copacabana instead. Trust me, you'll thank me later.
When it comes to the steak, it's a game of deception. A seemingly generous chunk of meat, yet only one bite manages to carry any semblance of flavor. The rest is an exercise in futility.
The lamb leg was parched, the bacon-wrapped steak a chewy mess, and the pork sausage a flavorless disappointment. The garlic steak mirrored the bacon-wrapped disaster, and the parmesan steak teetered on the edge of inedibility. Other cuts presented the same lackluster story.
In the end, only a handful of menu items managed to salvage this culinary catastrophe. The picanha, top sirloin, grilled pineapple, and bacon-wrapped chicken were the only beacons of hope in an otherwise dismal meal.
Save your time, money, and taste buds by steering clear of this establishment. Head to Copacabana for a true all-you-can-eat experience that won't leave you feeling cheated and nauseated. Your stomach and wallet...
Read moreI thought someone might find this detailed review of use as they have tons of reviews that paint a negative light. We stopped here for our one year anniversary.
First is the food: The food was fantastic everything was cooked perfectly. Some of the reviews state that the food was under seasoned which is untrue. If you order something 3 times for example Top sirloin 2/3 times will be perfectly seasoned except for the chicken just avoid that entirely. The sides are good but you have to order it instead of it being a salad bar. For my anniversary it was fine as waiters(for lack of better term) are constantly checking on you(One manager to be exact more on that). I do encourage people reading this to have a open mind when it comes to certain cuts with certain flavor combinations. They do season with salt but it's worth asking for the salt shaker for thing they slice off. If you order something 3 times 2/3 will be nicely seasoned. here is how I'd rank my favorites:
Pineapple- S Tier seriously would be a crime to rank it among the meats. Cinnamon with brown sugar on the outside to give it a caramel glaze. Think of it like you're eating a apple-pie without the crust. Seriously This is in a league of its own. Something I found funny with this is right after the Pineapple the Gentlemen came by with a desert menu I have zero idea how anything on that desert menu can compete with this.
Spicy Steak Medium Rare is going to be #1 I suspect they season this the day before as the whole thing was seasoned best thing there IMO Parm Steak, Medium Well or Well done you get a intense umami flavor I had low expectations but since they use fresh parm it's so good Honestly it could be a tie for 1st. Garlic Steak Medium Rare/Rare, This was good but IMO it could've had more garlic but it was super juicy can't go wrong.
Experience: I really wish I got the gentlemen's name but I really want to recognize him as he made my experience great. He must be a manager of some kind always checking up and when there as a point in time when we were kind of just waiting he came and asked if there's something we wanted specifically and had them make it specially for us. We went on Tuesday(8th of July). If you're reading this thank you for making our anniversary special man! He offered to bring out a cake for our special occasion but I was so full.
My score for this place would've been a 8/10 but the Pineapple and the gentlemen brought it to a 9/10. If I had one complaint as no store is perfect(This comes close). It would be that sometimes the servers would bring a Medium rare Parm Steak but it was in fact well done but this error actually led me to believe the parm steak is best well done. To be fair to them with my time in Customer service they most likely forgot my girlfriend likes well done and not me. Honestly if you looked at the reviews for this restaurant and are maybe thinking twice let this review tell you it's worth it.

Read moreNice atmosphere but not worth the price. $399 bill for 4 people. We didnt order anything fancy over the top. The drinks we did order came in very small glasses. Took a while to get the drinks as well. As in they came out after the food came out. The sides they sent out immediately were ok but we should have asked not to have them and picked others. When we went to the other location previously it was a buffet of salads and sides. This location you can order sides individually. My group wasnt really comfortable ordering more side dishes and possibly wasting so we didnt get to try a lot of stuff. Where as when we went to the other location it was easier to try a small bit of this and that. The guys coming around with the meats were friendly but actually didnt come around as much as we thought they would. The very high energy manager did come over but the 1st time was ONE bite in, so not a fair assessment yet and another time seemed like he was mistakenly talking to us and came to wrong table. We were not far from the kitchen so a couple times i felt he was shouting over us to the other staff in the kitchen. Some items were not brought out to us at all, example after we got the bill, i saw shrimp being brought around. Never saw it while we were eating. Some items were offered once only. I wanted to pace myself and see what all was being offered. I skipped a couple but my friends really liked someting, when I decided I'd like to try that in particular, it didnt come back again to try. Some items on website never went around. Ie ribs. It was a fun experience but not worth the price tag if your shy about asking for cuts or sides. Plan to be there longer, perhaps why we didnt get the chance to try certain things because of a planned rotation of offerings. The lamb was very dry and over cooked, one thing we were excited about was the lamb. It was very chewy and almost inedible, again felt bad wasting so we ate it. We were talking about the spicey steak and one member of our party would like more spice. One staff over heard this and insisted he could ask if they could do one more spicey for us. We didnt ask but said ok. He didnt come back at all to say no sorry we cant do that or we can do you want it. We didnt ask so we felt it was odd to jump in and offer and then never confirm or mention it again. They came around with the paramasan steak a lot. It was the worst. Very very overcooked and dry chunk. I wouldnt have it again and yet it was the most offered. There were some sort of flies hovering on our table. Dont know if it was fruit flies but definitely flying bugs we swatted away several times. Bit embarrassing to bring out of town visitors to a...
