Never coming back. Me and my family used to dine in here regularly but we stopped coming because we were too busy, after a while we had some free time and decided to come back, food was mediocre, service was also mediocre just everything in general was mediocre. It honestly didn’t feel the same anymore as to when we regularly came here. Anyways, after we finished eating and we finished paying the bill, we were getting ready to leave when one of the staff (I think she’s the manager) came up to us and told us to wait, we were wondering what happened and why she stopped us, I asked my family member if they payed yet and they said yes. Then the lady (Manager) said you didn’t add tip yet (something like that) then I look to my family member in confusion, then I ask her “did you add tip yet?” She replied “yes I did” Then I said “cash or card?” She replied “cash”; and in this moment my whole family was confused why the lady said we didn’t add tip, and so my family and I gave her an extra 21 dollars which I’m guessing is under 10%? And so I look at the lady And I’m guessing she said to herself “that’s it?” Then proceeds to make a facial expression that shows she’s not happy but she has to pretend she’s fine with it. Now I’m thinking to myself what did we do wrong? And so we just left. What I’m trying to say is she was not grateful at all with what we gave which is rude as hell. There was no sign saying we had to give more so I honestly don’t know why she acted like how she did. Like it’s tough times out here, we’re not obligated to give you more than we want to give you. Read moreI recently had an amazing dinner at Sariwon Korean BBQ and I can’t stop thinking about it! We ordered the Pork BBQ Combo B and it was such a good choice. The combo came with fresh pork belly, fresh pork butt, and marinated pork butt, and let me tell you, every bite was packed with flavour. The pork belly had that perfect balance of fat and crispiness, while the marinated pork butt was tender and had this delicious sweet and savoury glaze that made it hard to stop eating.
The combo also came with a soybean stew and two bowls of steamed rice. The stew was rich and hearty, and the flavour paired so well with the grilled meats. And honestly, the rice was the perfect base to soak up all the flavours.
One of the highlights for me was the spread of homemade Korean side dishes (banchan). From the kimchi to the bean sprouts and honey potato, each side dish was a fresh and flavourful contrast to the rich BBQ meats. They even asked if we wanted more of the banchan!
What made the experience even better was that the lovely staff handled all the grilling for us. We didn’t have to lift a finger (except to eat!). They cooked everything to perfection and made sure we were comfortable the whole time.
The service was also top-notch. The staff was super attentive, making sure the grill was at the right temperature and checking in to see if we needed anything. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it easy to settle in and enjoy the meal.

Read moreWhen in Rome, do as the Romans do. When seeking Korean food, go where the Koreans go! Sariwon is one of those spots uptown for an authentic quality KBBQ experience. Better yet, they now have an impressive patio to offer diners who wish to enjoy the rooftop. Location is just north of Yonge/Steeles where there are many Korean restaurant options.
This family owned restaurant prides itself on top notch quality cuts of meat. After scouring the menu of various Korean cuisine items, we settled on SamGyupSal (sliced pork bellies) & DwaeJi Galbi (marinated pork ribs) as a BBQ meal for 2. The thick pork belly cuts once caramelized went well with lettuce wrap & salty soybean paste sauce. The galbi akin to pork chop came pre-grilled and was an easy chew. Good BBQ starts with good meat.
For our order, a decent spread arrived including Japchae, Nokdu-Muk (mung bean jelly) along with more typical Banchan side dishes & salad. The complimentary Soybean Stew was well-seasoned despite the lack of spiciness. For the hot day, MulNaengMyun (cold beef noodle soup) was refreshing tho I always find buckwheat noodle slippery to chew. We tapped out with our bellies full and leftovers aplenty.
Service was excellent for our patio dining. While we were in the patio, we received frequent checkups, and their insistence to cut & help grill our pork bellies. Wonder if we've been cooking it wrong all these years. Others' gripes seem to be about the higher price point but we thought it was fair for a pleasant dining experience. Hey, whatever...
