Diner On Six — Restaurant in Vernon

The food was great. Had breakfast there on mornings of 30th and 31st. However there was something about one particular waitress....I noticed that she was a bit bossy, on my 2nd morning visit, this waitress directed me to sit at a table at the back, in front of the washrooms when there were AVAILABLE tables at the windows. When I requested that I would prefer to sit at the same table, she made a bit of a face and grabbed my coffee to the table of my choice. After taking my order, she totally ignored me for coffee top ups. Another of her coworkers kindly topped up my coffee.

I ALSO noticed that she made it a point to call out Bye and have a nice day to all Caucasian customers. Twice in a row, this waitress took to silence AFTER I had pre-tipped and when I was getting ready to step out the door, yes, I noticed she chose to ignore me.

I just wanted her Manager and the Owner to see this review, as I believe my money for the breakfast fare is as well earned as the next set of patrons, racial divide notwithstanding. I did not know what her name is, but she is about mid to late 30's has a very fit and slim figure, strawberry -ish blonde and mans the till most of her shift. True to form, I will not be eating there again, alas, I do not need to out up with this form of subtle racism. (I am of mixed Asian-British heritage - but then again in today's day and age, it should be the least of anyone's...

This was my girlfriend and I'm first time here. It was an excellent experience.

There was a very long lineup (7 groups) in front of us. There was a young couple who casually cut in line in front of everybody, but I don't think anyone else really noticed.

This is a restaurant where you order when you enter then get seated afterwards. All condiments and syrup and drinks are given to you when you sit down.

I wasn't listening when our order was repeated back to me. The server was fine with remaking our food. It was completely my fault, but she remade it cheerfully.

Every breakfast place does hashbrowns drastically different in Vernon. This place has hashbrowns in the form of sliced baked potatoes with onions. It tasted pretty good.

Our whole meal was delicious for only 30 bucks total. The skillets looked so good. I wish I ordered it like my girlfriend did.

Highly recommend. I hope to come back soon!

They have lots of dividers between tables, numerous hand sanitization stations, clean bathroom, and hot water in the bathroom too!

There is indoor and outdoor...

We found this diner by chance when we searched breakfast places in the area. We are sure glad we decided to try it! The parking lot is crowded during peak times but don't let that deter you.

Once you are inside, it is a little different than a typical breakfast spot. You are asked for your drink and food order before you are seated. Before you even get your food ordered, your drinks are waiting for you at a cozy booth! After you are seated, your food will show up shortly thereafter. This is smart because it generates a quick turnover in the small dining room, but you do not feel rushed at all!

The ladies at the counter are great at what they do and are sure to make it a pleasant experience! I don't usually care for paying/tipping prior to finishing my meal, but in this case, no issues because I don't think you could ever have a bad experience here.
