"The Winston’s" has amazing food!!! A lot of people around town have been hyping up the food, and tonight a friend and I decided to check it out. We were tired of the usual Cactus Club etc routine and wanted something different.
We rolled in around 9:45 PM. The server/bartender was warm, welcoming, and on point from the get-go. But the food? Absolutely unreal. I’m just shy of 300 lbs—I eat, and I eat well—so trust me when I say this:
The Winston’s might just be the most underrated food spot in town. Like WHAT?! Definitely a hidden gem! They do breakfast too! (I'll have to come try).
The prawn dish was easily one of the best I’ve had in over a year, slightly spicey but in a really good way that's not overbearing. The Yorkshire puddings were to die for—comforting, rich, in a good way, and tasted like a true home-cooked meal. Despite showing up late, they were so accommodating and never made us feel rushed.
And the new rooftop patio? We dined at 9:45pm so you get this gorgeous panoramic view of the city at night that just elevates the entire experience.
Pro tip: Don’t rely on Google or AI-generated listings for the menu—they’re often outdated or just plain wrong. Visit their actual website or give them a call to get the real deal on what’s available. Definitely worth...
Read moreA Disappointing Experience at Sir Winston's My recent visit to Sir Winston's in Vernon was unfortunately quite disappointing, primarily due to the incredibly rude service we received. My group and I were taking a moment to look over the menu and had a few questions about some of the items, as one does in a pub setting. However, our waitress seemed to have absolutely no patience for this. When we asked about the menu, she curtly responded with, "I'm going to tell you everything is good because I am too busy for this." This level of dismissiveness is simply unacceptable. It made us feel unwelcome and like an inconvenience rather than paying customers. A server's job is to assist guests, especially when they're trying to make an informed decision about their meal. Her comment was unprofessional and frankly, quite shocking. While I can't speak to the food itself as this interaction soured our entire experience, the poor service was enough to ensure we won't be returning to Sir Winston's. There are many other establishments in Vernon with friendly and helpful staff, and I recommend taking your business elsewhere if you're looking for an enjoyable...
Read moreSir Winston's is eatery number ninety-four for me in Vernon and Coldstream.
Sir Winston's has been around since 1995. Although located in a rough part of town, it is famous for its summertime patio.
This was my third time here in the past ten years.
Unlike other places that try to charge $20 for an excessively large order of nachos, you can do a small half order of nachos for $13.
The nachos are tied with The Kal for the best Canadian style nachos in Vernon (only Los Huesos is superior but it's Mexican style).
I also ordered Deep Fried Pickles which are $10 instead of $12 during "Appy Hour."
My water, half nachos, and deep fried pickles came to $27.77 after tax and a 15 percent tip.
I ate the whole meal in one sitting. The half order nachos could be a little bigger, but nearly every restaurant and pub has settled for mediocre nachos as of late. I prefer quality over quantity at this point. It's so difficult to find good nachos.
The server was super friendly and came by frequently.
I highly recommend as an alternative to...
