I highly recommend Jena Beckett as an outstanding practitioner of Physio Therapy. I came to see Jena in the summer of 2023 upon the recommendation of my wife, who was and is also being treated by her. At the time I was experiencing a nagging pain on the inside of my elbow, as well as ongoing muscle pain in my forearms, neck, and back, resulting from a life of physical exertion in the construction industry. Jena treated me with a technique called Dry Needling that I had heard of, but never experienced. I had normal acupuncture in years gone by, but I found the dry needling technique was really quite effective, and after a number of treatments, the pain disappeared. Apart from dry needling, what really impresses me with Jena’s method of treatment, is that she does not mess around. She really gets in there and pulls, stretches, twists the limbs, back and neck and works your muscles with a lot of effort. Most recently, I came to see Jena again with a bad muscle spasm in my lower back/waist area. I was having difficulty walking because of the pain. I tried unsuccessfully myself for days to aggressively massage the area and stretch, but it didn’t seem to help. I could not seem to find a stretch for the muscle, which was down deep in my lower back/waist. Jena knew exactly what to do, and showed me how to position myself with one foot stepping up on a bench, and in which direction to stretch my upper body to begin releasing the tension on that exact muscle. Jena’s treatment of dry needling, together with specific stretching exercises that she showed me, helped to relax the muscle. If you’re looking for a physiotherapist, look no further. Go see Jena and you won’t regret it....
Read moreWhen we’re caught up in our “day-to-day,” every day, we can easily lose track of acknowledging credit where credit is due, particularly when we’re preoccupied in bewilderment that the rest of the world seems to have gone mad. Our politicians, who have been entrusted by us to serve OUR best interests, seem to be only serving their own and our civil servants appear to have forgotten that their job is to act for OUR needs and not some "official" narrative that has gone way too far down the rabbit hole. Common sense seems to have been abandoned in favour of following the rest of the lemmings, in haste and out of fear, into the sea.
At an recent gathering of his professional health-care-giving peers, Cory Hewco, founder and Owner of Vernon Active Health, successfully appealed for a return to common sense, at least within his Chiropractic Association, by NOT mandating limits to the Rights and Freedoms Canadians have enjoyed until recently and which have been systematically removed by big pharma business, and those on the government dole.
It takes a great deal more courage and endurance to swim upstream, against the current, and potentially at one’s professional peril, than it does to float lazily downstream with the rest. This is typical of Cory’s penchant for what is right, whether for his patients, his family and friends, his colleagues at Vernon Active Health or his fellow Canadians.
It occurred to me today that Cory is an OBVIOUS recipient of “credit where credit is due” and deserves our collective support in whatever way we can offer it. Thank you, Cory…we appreciate your tenacity and resilience - ...

I go there mainly because they now have, in my opinion, the best physiotherapist I’ve ever met, Jenna Beckett.
I’ve been going to see Jena for about 3 years now. She has helped me w my sore & painful to move neck, my sometimes sore lower back & hip area (had both my hips replaced), and recently my over-used & strained from carpentry work, left thumb. The knowledge & advice that Jena has shared w me have been priceless. She has helped my body heal better & quicker because of all the info she has shared w me on how I can strengthen those hurt areas, and because she tells me what activities or movements I should avoid. Also the techniques & treatments during her sessions are awesome & very effective. She’s extremely good at stretching the affected muscles/joints/ligaments… & deep tissue massaging or pressure point stimulating those areas. Another very effective treatment that Jena specializes at that I get done on me is IMS (intra muscular stimulation, a form of acupuncture that stimulates muscle healing). It kinda hurts a bit when you get it done, but then the next day if feels better, and the day after EVEN BETTER. Every time I come to see her my painful or sore area feel better instantly, and Jena always sends me away w strategies & “home work activities” to help myself heal even more on my own time. It’s very empowering. I recommend Jena Beckett, at Vernon Active Health, VERY highly to anyone who could use the best Physio around (in my humble...
