Pho Saté Restaurant — Restaurant in Vernon

This was eatery number ninety-six in Vernon.

This was my first ever visit to Pho Sate. It is one of four Vietnamese restaurants in town. Fresh Lemongrass has always been my go-to Vietnamese restaurant as well as my parents.

It's great that there's a place downtown.

I was surprised how busy it was inside. I ordered the one vegetarian main dish on the menu--Tofu Pad Thai.

As someone who visits SEA every year since 2019, my Tofu Pad Thai expectations are sky high like Cee-Lo.

The noodles were a bit thinner than I expected, and it was missing that peanut sauce kick.

However, I liked the lime flavour with the hot sauce bowl and the bowl of crumbs to add on.

Again, I know I have eaten Pad Thai in Phuket literally hundreds of times so I know I will be nitpicking. It was still delicious.

I paid $16.05 after tax. This place doesn't do table service so tipping is optional.

I recently tried “Pho Sate”, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. I had high expectations based on the reviews, but the food fell flat. I ordered the vermicelli bowl, and the meat was extremely hard and bland, the meat and vegetables, were under-seasoned. I was expecting vibrant, rich flavors, but instead, it felt like the dish was missing any seasoning or zest. I was really hoping for a more flavorful, “authentic” experience, but sadly, it didn’t live up to the hype."

The presentation was fine, until you dig through it, there was A LOT OF RICE AND A SMALL PORTION OF MEAT IN THERE. I did not get my money’s worth.

The service was fine, and the staff was polite, but the lack of flavor in the food made the meal feel like a letdown.

Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be ordering...

Generous portion, friendly owner and when you order large pho, it is certainly large! My wife and I were craving for some Vietnamese food and decide to pick up some from Pho Sate. It’s a small joint in the downtown Vernon, abut the flavor is big! When we were deciding what to order, my wife was debating between a small or large pho, he honestly told us most ppl ordered small, it thinking about my wife’s appetite we decided to go with large. When we got back to the hotel room and discover wow, there were a lot of food! After my wife were full, she was only on,y able to finish 1/3 of her food!
