Having lived all across Canada and having visit Thailand on 3 occasions I do not consider myself to be a chef by any means however this was the worst Thai food that I’ve ever experienced in my life and the conditions of this restaurant and the service was atrocious. I don’t know how long of a review I’m allowed to leave but I will tell you that they even made a mistake on my change because I was not going to leave any gratuity for the services that I was given and they short changed me.
The table, cutlery and glassware were all filthy the windows were disgusting with dirt and grease, there was a horrific smell inside of the restaurant, the waitress that served me had zero personality and even when she came past my table with a water pitcher in her hand she didn’t once fill it until I asked her to do so.
I ordered the cashew chicken which probably had five times the amount of salt in it and yes it was a lunchtime plate but the poor portion would only be good for a 90 year old or a small child.
My lunch was $15 and I upgraded for $2.75 to include a fountain drink and a very small over cooked spring roll for a grand total of $17.75 all in. I did not wish to leave a tip and I paid with a $20 bill and she gave me $1.70 back for my change. When I asked her she pretended that she either couldn’t hear me or didn’t understand me. Time of lunch was 1:22 pm on 10.14.22 just in case anyone wants to even look into this.
I took a lot of pictures if anyone would like to see them.
Please feel free to check out and you’ll see that I’m usually not this hard on anybody or any place but this was by far the worst service I’ve ever had in my life post pictures on my platinum...

Went for lunch with my mom today and honestly, I wasn't that impressed. Restaurant looked exactly the same as it did 20 years ago, with the green carpet. Definitely needs an update. But who cares about the decor when the food is good right?
We got the pad thai, the black bean beef somethingrather and a green chicken stirfry type of thing (sorry no way I can remember the names).
I remember Boa-Thong's pad thai as legendary from years ago, but today it was... it was okay. It was sweet and lacking in depth in my opinion. The sauce was a little thick. Honestly, not that great. Not bad, but not great.
The chicken green/yellow sauce dish was actually quite good. Had the flavours that I remembered with Boa Thong. No complaints on that dish totally worth.
The black bean beef dish however tasted STRONGLY of teriyaki as though someone went to the store and poured on teriyaki sauce out of the can on it. It was honestly disgusting.
The service was... good I guess? They took our order quickly and got our food quickly... but the waitress was sort of just distant and cold. No smile, no emotion, and we sat at the table for 5 minutes after getting the cheque because we didn't know we had to go to the counter to pay.
This restaurant had a 'best restaurant in the okanagan in 1998-2004' awards sitting above the pay counter, and I can see why they didn't get more awards since.
Honestly... Not really impressed anymore. Only 1/3 dishes hit home, the server didn't exude friendliness, and the decor was dog. We were there for lunch mid summer but there were only two other tables than us,...
Read moreI have been searching years for an authentic Thai restaurant ever since our beloved Lhy Thai in Burnaby closed down. It seems I finally found it...in Vernon!
Very friendly service. Decor is tasteful and well done. But the most important part...the food was stunning. I daresay the equivalent of what I remember from Lhy Thai.
I had the Pad Gra Paow. Chicken stir fried with various veggies and basil. Purchased steamed rice separately.
The veggies were fresh, chicken was cooked perfectly and cut correctly and the flavor of sauce it was cooked in was balanced perfectly as only a true Thai chef is capable of doing. Whoever is in the kitchen knows their business, and knows it well.
Another recommendation I would give is to ask for the house made hot sauce. Perfectly tangy and spicy. Compliments the dish oh so well and does not overpower it.
I truly wish this restaurant was in the Lower Mainland where I live. If it was, I would definitely be a regular. This place should be a lot more busy for dinner than it was. It's a true gem.
Highly, HIGHLY...
