The chicken shawarma bowl was very good. The chicken was perfectly flavoured and seasoned. They did not skimp on the amount of chicken in the bowl. It was about half of the very large serving. I would have liked to see homemade pickles instead of the pickles that they had, but still a nice addition to the bowl. The garlicky white sauce in it was delicious. My husband got the Lebanese Chicken Shawarma wrap. The wrap shell looked homemade, which is nice, but didn't hold up while he ate. We had it delivered, so this may have been better as an eat-in meal. My husband was underwhelmed with the wrap overall. He also ordered fries. So, I've gone through several reviews trying to see if anyone else had comments about the fries, because I am very confused by the "fries." I have never had such terrible fries in my life. Considering I couldn't see any other reviews for them, this makes me wonder if we had an odd order, because they were so bad that I cannot imagine that anyone would forget to complain about them. Now, I also understand that they could have been diminished in quality by the delivery time, and maybe they were in a container that didn't allow for steam to escape, thus allowing the fries to become soggy. However, they were definitely not crispy to begin with. They were pale yellow in colour, limp, and tasted like bland, oil soaked potatoes. Maybe the frier wasn't hot enough, or maybe they are made in a different manner? I've had fries from other places delivered, and yes, delivered fries are never amazing. But these really stood out in a bad way. After we each had a taste, they went straight into the compost. Unfortunately, I didn't take a photo before that, and I feel weird posting a photo of the compost... If nothing else, I absolutely do not recommend the fries for delivery. But, I'd very much hesitate to try them in the...
Read moreI hate doing this kinda stuff as it seems the majority of my reviews lately are negative. But I am sick of bait and switch techniques by places so here it is. I ordered the falafel bowl from uber....look at my photos attached to see what was advertised and compare to what I got. Would you be happy with that for 22$? In the pic on Uber there is pickled veg and tabouleh and recognizable hummus with some simple chopped tomatoes, decent sized falafel that look housemade all on top of what looks like saffron or turmeric rice. It's beautiful. Then look at what I got! 3 teeny, slimy anemic looking falafels that I KNOW are pre made and freezer bought, shredded leaf lettuce and some slices of dill pickles. No hummus at all...no tabouleh , pretty much nothing like what Uber showed to expect. Like, wtf!?!?! Don't do this ....it's beyond rude and if you continue to cut corners your business will suffer. I will never order from here again. And I just noticed the review below mine ...... Looks like your heart's haven't changed that much but I understand how tough the world is getting. I really don't think it's going to be possible for small restaurants to succeed anymore. Unfortunately, tabouleh used to be a cheap salad but it's mostly parsley and that kind of produce has gone up so much in price in the last decade you would think it is gold. So, I hope this is just a cost thing. Nonetheless, please don't blatantly lie on your menu. Btw, the food went in the garbage. And now after looking at the fake review from Naz 11 months ago where all the pics included are the exact same ones advertised on Uber I realize this place has no heart. Like, come on!!!! Liars who care about profit...
Read moreHuge disappointment after the game they were talking on their website. Definitely not authentic shawarma and very very expensive for what you get. A falafel bowl was $19.50, $5.00 more than the same item at Super Baba and not as good, plus the portion size was not as large. My brother and I got a falafel bowl and a chicken shawarma wrap each and the bill was over $70 for takeout (no drinks). Whatever you do - do not get the hot sauce as it is not good and does not enhance the flavour of the dishes.
Overall I would not go here if you are looking for good shawarma (or falafel) at a fair price. The value for money is just not there and neither is the flavour. Unfortunately the best falafel in this city is the stuff you make at home LOL, I have honestly had better mix that I add my own fresh parsley to - but at least you can get it elsewhere (in other restaurants) for a WAAAAY better price than here.
Overall recommendation - avoid! Wait until you are in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary or somewhere that knows what shawarma should taste like and what a fair price is for...
