ME English Breakfast Tea Pleass? STAFF:: we do not have that, here is our selection, we have a black tea Red Song... ME: is it an orange pekoe? STAff: ????... We have a nice herbal tea. ME: Not my thing,, I will try the Red Song. STAFF We will bring the tea out. ME where is the milk? STAFF we will put it in.... ME I like to let it steep and add the milk. STAFF We will bring a side... A few minutes later... STAFF2: (Brings out a cupping sized glass pot with wide opening and a small class to pour the tea in... the tea is very very weak... hey small glass no problem, have drunk lots of small glasses in Turkey , etc... weak on the otherhand...) ME: Ah.... STAFF2: We steep it for the recommend time.....We do not have enough teabag so this is how we have to searve it... ME; Sigh..... As a tea drinker I am very used to challenges... I mean a teabag steeping in the water and milk... coffee carats being used to serve tea from... trust me the coffee taste comes through.. btw know of any coffee places that serves the top up that uses already brewed coffee grounds? So Hey Happy.... can you offer a good basic tea which i can control it's strength?

We came here after reading the high reviews and posts on here and Google maps. We arrived a few minutes before opening and decided to eat breakfast at Willie's across the street. And when we came back the coffee shop was filled with all sorts of people. We were helped by a helpful employee. And told him we had never heard of their Nitro brew that we read online. He was helpful and offered us a free taste in a cute cappuccino cup. We tried and it was definitely different hard to explain other then a bubbly beer light substance that tastes like coffee. We ordered one tall class almost like what a beer would be in. It only cost $4. We stood at the window and enjoyed the coffee while watching out and enjoying the atmosphere. Great spot and location. Walking distance from the ferry and the Grand Pacific Hotel. I'd recommend it!

A lovely cafe that serves the best cappuccino I’ve ever had.

Walking in, you’re greeted by smiling staff, great music from their vinyl collection, and myriad lovely aromas. Hey Happy is bright, clean, and well decorated. The staff were friendly, and the service snappy.

I enjoyed the aforementioned cappuccino along with an exceptionally tasty parfait. The espresso was complex and flavourful like the best light roasts I’ve tried, but didn’t leave the usual bitter or sour aftertaste. Instead I was left with a lovely round, balanced taste that reminded me of almond. The balance of espresso and dairy was perfect— neither degrading the other. It might go without saying, but the pour was excellent. My parfait was similarly lovely. The granola was crisp, flavourful, and substantial, but not heavy or mealy. The house made strawberry & rhubarb compote was sweet and bright, and perfectly complemented the yogurt.

For my order, I payed about $17.00 including tax and a tip, and that feels reasonable for what was an outstanding experience. I’d recommend checking Hey Happy out if you’re downtown, and looking...

My husband, baby (5 month old) and I came to Hey Happy to get a sandwich and coffee on New Year’s Eve. The staff there were very rude to us and essentially asked us to leave the facility. We had our infant child in their stroller and could only find one table that was as available for us - which was in a “high-tragic area”. We spent a decent amount of money there and felt as though we were unwelcome and rushed out the door. Although we planed to eat our food there, the staff ended up giving us our food to go and we had to go eat our sandwiches standing in market square as all the outdoor seating was wet. Not a very positive experience….

UPDATE- I private messaged Hey Happy as per their request they continued to defend their position on treating customers this way. Ironically the previous post is of a customer giving a glowing review with a photo doing exactly what my family and I were doing when asked to leave. For a self proclaimed inclusive environment, our experience doesn’t feel very inclusive. Hopefully in the future they can focus on treating all customers with value, even...
