I ordered a pad thai, fried rice and spring rolls on their website to pick up later during my lunch break. I arrived at Baan Thai at the time specified in the text message I received. When I arrived, the restaurant was not busy and I was quickly met by someone. I informed them that I was there to pick up an online order. I could tell something was wrong because she walked to the kitchen and back and then called over someone who looked like a manager. They both stared at a screen for a while but never came back to tell me what was going on. Five or so minutes later, someone else came by and asked how they could help. I informed her that I was there to pick up my lunch order. She left and went to the pair and then went around the restaurant. During this time, the original person came by and told me that “the kitchen is still working on your food”. I waited around for maybe 15 more minutes and was becoming increasingly frustrated, as I was wasting my lunch break waiting. Finally, I called out to one of the people, asking how much longer my food would be. He said he’d go check and on his way to the kitchen, the other person came and handed me my food with an apology. I waited for a total of 20 minutes after the specified pick up time. I’ve worked at a few restaurants before and if a mistake had been made, I would let the customer know exactly what happened and how much longer they would need to wait. In this case, it seemed like they thought I wouldn’t notice and the lack of knowing what was going on and no estimated time increased my frustration. I would really recommend in the future that if an error is made, you let the customer know, so they're not just standing there without a clue. I got home and was excited to eat but unfortunately, the pad thai was inedible. I’m not sure if a mistake was made due to the food being rushed, but it had way, way too much tamarind or something that made it extremely bitter. I threw it out after taking a few bites. The fried rice I ordered was also not good. There was hardly any flavour to it. The sauce that came with the spring rolls were the highlight of my order. I might try one of their curries in the future but I’m extremely weary of ordering from them again, in part to the lack of handling of the situation that happened and the flavours in the...

I asked the waitress/hostess for the wifi code and she muttered "noodle99". She never indicated whether it was spelled with numbers or spelled out as words. She also did not tell us which wifi network was applicable. We figured it was the one labeled "NoodleCartPublic" but normally a waitress/hostess would say.
6:26 PM
As other customers walked out the door, they said "she was not very nice." We figure they were referring to the waitress/hostess.
6:27 PM
The waitress poured water and we said thank you. She did not say anything. It was rude. Typically a waitress will say "you're welcome" and smile after customers say thank you.
6:40 PM
The waitress finally does the normal and asks us how is everything. But then she goes back to the kitchen and says, "he keeps staring at his phone."

We are an interracial couple. We get the "is the check together or separate" from people who are generally ignorant. We came in together. We sat next to each other (instead of across from each other). We also are wearing wedding rings. When I asked "why do you ask if we are separate or together?" she said she asks everyone and "you never know." Not acceptable. It was obvious we were together and paying together.

When the waitress/hostess brings the bill she just drops it off in front of me. She does not say here you go or anything. She practically throws it on the table...
