Curry Club Victoria — Restaurant in Victoria

First off the restaurant is very nice on the inside-brighter ambiance and matched with deep blue accents.

The food is amazing!! We ordered a lot of food-appies and meals. Highly recommend the coconut chicken-it’s just my fav. We also had chana masala, veg biryani, daal makhani, okra masala (also highly recommend okra-phenomenal) The allies we ordered were veg pakora and veg shaslik-both very good the creamy mint chutney was a pleasant surprise. Our drinks we had more than enough masala chai-usually it’s an after meal drink but I love tea so much I could easily drink it all day. The menu is huge it’s almost hard too choose. I used to eat Indian food more often and there are things on this menu I have not had and am excited to try it all. We finished our meal with the saffron rice pudding, the chocolate roti and the to die for matka kulfi. I think it’s one of the only places you can get matka kulfi as a dessert-so good and fresh tasting.

(Things to know about Indian restaurants is a lot of dishes can be tamed down in spice it’s usually just more coconut milk or something- that being said there are also lots of dishes that cannot be less spicy they just are spicy but the good thing about those dishes is you can always add more spice to it. So choose wisely...

While the food was fantastic, this restaurant has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. 1. The waiters were not experienced enough to seat us after waiting for 20 mins in the doorway, and NOT handing us menu's to review. Instead they just say us down and made us wait again with water with no glasses. 2. They told us at the end after eating our meal that we can't pay with card (it was broken). Wouldn't accept USD cash at first, then asked for more money... Even though our offer was way more than the conversion. 3. Then when we left to go 2 blocks away to get cash, because of their broken card machine, they assumed to keep our money when we paid with no change. (We have them a big notes). So I asked for change, to give the usual tip % regardless of the poor customer service, and he still shorted us a few bucks on our change. I understand you're probably tired and overworked (it seemed very obvious they were, since they were stumbling all over the place). The music was also super loud rap music, that even deterred customers from sitting in our area because it was so loud. Overall, the food was great though, but they still managed to give us no cutlery, in our togo and additional lids for no reason :/. The price was a little over than average, but thankful they were open...

Food, service and ambience are the three important things that are considered while visiting a food restaurant. I will start with their service. I was visiting this restaurant first time after reading the reviews. I ordered Chole bhature, and for two plates of chole bhature, I had to wait for more than one hour. This happened when the place was not at all busy. Apart from mine, there were only two other tables that were occupied. I asked the server why it is taking so long and her response was that we are busy right now. I understand there could be some mobile orders but how about letting their customers know ahead of time that they gonna take time to prepare the order. Not just the waiting, when I started eating my food, I found out a hair in my chole. I informed the server about that and she was trying to explain that this is not hair, even without looking at it. After that she simply said sorry and left. About the ambience, the dine-in hall was clean and peaceful but the restrooms were messy. Food quality, I won't recommend anyone to try chole bhature at this place, there are many other places in victoria which can provide better taste...
