I absolutely love Discoveryās coffee and tea lattes and have visited multiple locations. However, I decided to give the Discovery Street location a second chance after a poor first experience, thinking that everyone has a bad day sometimes.
Today, after grocery shopping with my dolly in hand, I stopped by the Discovery Street location to grab something to drink. The barista initially smiled at me but then suddenly changed his expression to a look of disdain when he noticed my dolly. The dramatic shift was unpleasant and uncalled for.
Iām typically an easygoing person, and I understand people can make mistakes. However, this wasnāt the case here. There wasnāt anyone behind me at all. I ordered a small London Fog, but they handed me steep Early Grey tea without the steamed oat milk. I had to ask for the oat milk at the bar instead. At that point, I didnāt even bother correcting them further because it was clear they DIDNāT CARE at all.
This was my second disappointing experience at this location, where Iāve encountered a complete lack of customer service. I strongly suggest the owner reconsider who they hire for this location.
While Iāll continue to visit other Discovery locations, I will never return to the Discovery Street location again!! I really wish I can give -5 star for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWell the menu is listed on the window but not everything has prices, for example they have a list of teas, but how much is the tea, why am I searching for a price. And the price wont even be that because of a auto 12% tip. Tipping is fine, and most people tip, but shouldn't it be a choice. I'm already being taxed for my purchases, I should at least see if the tea that I cant find the price to is even worth tipping. ( also to whoever's reading this.. good luck finding a menu online...) Look Prices are made up. So here is my caveman thought; Instead of forcing customers to pay an extra dollar, on an already marked up product, so you can give your employee a dollar, just raise the price a dollar and then give your employee that dollar when they sell said item. Boom, now they have incentive, may try and sell those item, and make good drink, so customer come back , and to maybe write prices on signs when they have some down time, and then tips on top of that, so when I buy a presumably $5 london fog, i can feel happy that I tipped, that I am nice and did a nice thing... and not feel robbed as the gratuity fairy rips money from my hand after spending $5 on a tea bag.. Idk , im not a doctor....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI work one block away from this place. They always have decent coffee and decent service until my last visit a few weeks ago. I wanted an 8 oz americano in a 10 oz cup and I was denied unless I pay the 10 oz rate. I explained to the staff that their sleeve is too big for their small 8 oz and a fresh cup of americano is just too hot to hold without a sleeve. The staff told me that "it's our policy". I then I requested they double cup it so i can possibly hold it without burning myself, and that request was denied too. I complained a little bit more, and the guy gave me a second cup very reluctantly!
I spent hundreds of dollars in this place over the years, and in the end, they just think I am a customer trying to scam them for a big paper cup! I didn't want the extra 2 oz of hot water in my americano even if it's free!!
Haven't been back...
