Gallery Merrick is an absolutely beautiful space, with intriguing, sometimes boundary-breaking Canadian art! I have found "the perfect gift" for art-loving friends there. I also worked with Joe Bembridge, the charismatic and well-informed owner, on purchasing a commissioned piece by Lisa Riehl. The whole process was easy, did not break the budget and I now own a gorgeous landscape painting full of meaning. Just bought another meaningful piece today, steeped in Nature. Joe has a knack for finding artists who say something with their art, and it resonates. Joe makes buying art both fun and exciting. During the 2020 lockdown, when we were all stuck at home and everything felt uncertain, his Facebook art shows were a real bright spot. They brought beauty, humour, and a sense of connection right when it was needed most.

This studio has exceptional pieces in it and a European feel to it without any pretentiousness! The owner Joe is knowledgeable and welcoming. Prices in pieces range from affordable ($300) to some exceptional collector pieces! Super colourful and inviting! We brought my 4 year old god son in and he loved looking at all the mixed medium pieces and Joe (with a background in child education) paid close attention to him explaining the pieces and interacting.
