Kizuna Ramen on Douglas — Restaurant in Victoria

Authentic ramen at a great price… this is as close as I’ve come to finding the ramen I used to love eating in Hyogo when I lived in Japan. Their vegetarian miso ramen is also delicious and with a pretty incredible presentation considering it’s takeout only!

What I have really loved is that the flavours are really balanced in the soup instead of just relying on a garlic and salt overload. The ingredients in the ramen really work together and I was amazed at how fresh the noodles were. I wonder if he sources them fresh or is making them fresh?

In any case, this is a lovely little ramen shop for takeaway and I was also glad to hear that he’s been active in the community to support local schools with initiatives around literacy and other things, which is why I gave this...

The best vegan ramen I’ve ever had! It is absolutely delicious! I didn’t try many places but Kizuna ramen’s vegan ramen is the best. I tried both Donkotsu and Vegan but I prefer vegan one. So rich, flavourful, well balanced flavors. As far as I know there’s no ramen store who makes their own broth in Victoria. I have seen him making broth from scratch! So much work and love!

Each topping of the ramen is perfectly seasoned too. As a former kitchen mate at little piggy catering (pick up location), I couldn’t resist ordering his ramen whenever I worked. Hands down the best ramen spot in Victoria by far!! Too bad they dont have an official restaurant yet where you can dine in and everything has to be ordered online. But this is the kind of ramen you would order multiple times and not get tired of the taste! It's that good! The combination of the broth and their noodle is just incredible! And the egg is always cooked so perfectly! Never been to japan but I think this is closest to the authentic ramen. Their gyoza is very tasty too with their not so typical spicy gyoza sauce and I love it! Thank you Kizuna for selling this kind of ramen/food...
