I saw an ad on Facebook advertising a deal on their crispy chicken, buy one get one free. I took a screenshot to show the restaurant. When I showed the ad on Facebook to the person working there, he said that I needed an actual coupon. Then he said that it’s only for members, not for everybody. Nowhere on the Facebook ad did it mention anything about having a coupon or having to be a member. He then told me to scan a QR code to become a member. So I did. Then he told me he had to call somebody. So I stood there, waiting for him to finish his phone conversation. I waited for about a minute before I left. You can check the security footage to verify. I’ve never had a business try so hard to not honour a promotion. I’m guessing the franchisee didn’t want to give me a free chicken burger. It’s so disappointing because I’ve been wanting to eat here for a long time, and have heard good things about this place. Now I have the Boardwalk card in my Apple wallet (which I hate), for absolutely no reason. And now I’m getting random promotional TEXT MESSAGES on my phone from them. Worst experience ever. This happened around 11:45am on Tuesday September 16. This place was completely empty. I have a pretty good guess as to why.
