Pretty hit or miss. Hubby and I ordered for delivery totalling around $60 for his vatican burger and stern fries and my low priest chicken burger and poutine. My poutine was fine but my burger was just sad and awful. The chicken itself was fine aside from being a bit dry but the “pickles” were really three tiny ends of a cucumber not even brined in pickle juice / no pickle taste. The lettuce was thrown on there and very little sauce. Overall it was very very dry and disappointing not to mention alot smaller than advertised. Hubbys fries did not come with a description but came with about 2 onions worth of soggy long stringy onions thrown ontop of some fries with a random white sauce. Very gross and way too heavy on the onions and his fries looked like he got the butt ends of all of them half of the fries were tiny and very over cooked for the size. For nearly $60 you would expect decent quality food but was incredibly disappointed by quality, quantity, taste, size and overall experience. Pretty gross.

We ordered curbside pickup for lunch on a Sunday, getting two Impossible Burgers and a side of fries. The Impossible Burger patty was VERY convincing as a beef substitute. I could easily serve this at a BBQ and no one would know the difference unless I mentioned it. It was REALLY cool. Scarily accurate. Try it! However, I don't know if I can recommend Burgers Priest because of other factors: - I paid $1.50 for cheese and didn't get it - I added tomato, pickle, and "vegan sauce" (basically a mustardy secret sauce). The toppings were a letdown...not enough of each one, and one of the tomato slices wasn't ripe. In my photo I've pushed everything to the front to make it look better. Next time I would order a crapload of toppings to make the ratio of toppings to bun/burger more proportional - fries were VERY well executed but also very VERY salty. If there's a way to order low / no added salt next time I would.

Edit: President reached out to make up for our experience. We tried the place again and the service was way better! We got our food hot and in a reasonable time since it's made fresh to order. The food ended up be delicious just a little greasy. Would give you a 0 star but since that's not an option you get a 1. Waited 40+ minutes for our order to find out they just left it sitting on the counter to get cold. The mushroom cap was rock solid and fries were stone cold, so it had to be sitting there for a good 20 minutes. Returned the food, was not offered fresh hot food to make it right and the girl working the cash didn't even know how to do a refund. Had to wait another 10 minutes for her to figure out how to refund. Didn't even get to try the food. Can't wait for the empty reply offering to make up the experience and then getting ghosted when having to follow through on it.

Well, I was really excited for this to be a great burger place, I was sorely disappointed. Burger's Priest does a lot right, but so many little things wrong.

Bad:

  1. Cost. This place is horrendously overpriced for what you get. $7 for half a cup of chili, $7 for a burger that belongs on Wendy's value menu. It's too much. The fries are good value. The shakes were decent value for the taste, but should still be cheaper. And the real shame is that the price doesn't equal taste...
  2. Taste. The food is very bland. All the tasted in the burger was tomatoes. The chili was too salty (props for having carrots in it). The veggies are stale and flopping, causing an imbalance in the burger taste. I've seen used socks with more structural integrity than the burger buns. I'm paying $7 for a burger with worse buns that fast food! Go to Costco and buy Dempster's white burger buns, it'll taste better than that. The beef was cooked decently, but still no flavour, no seasonings and the beef wasn't good enough to carry the burger.
  3. Location. Very awkward place. Finding the parking lot requires driving a very specific route. Very much built for foot traffic, but then only has 3 benches to eat on outside, and no trash cans. We ended up carrying out trash back to our car.

Good:

  1. Milkshakes were good. But how can one mess up ice cream and flavoured syrup?
  2. Fries. The fries were the best value. Good and crispy. Well cooked. Stayed warm a decent amount of time.
  3. Staff. The staff, especially the cashier, was very nice. Basically adding an extra star just for that cashier. Though I wasn't provided a receipt, which was odd. You should ask customers if they want their receipt.

Having gone once, I will not return, nor will I recommend this place to anyone wanting a good burger--for that is not what is offered here. The vibe, aesthetic, and especially the website gives off a Shake Shack vibe, but you end up with the food provided at a 6-year old's birthday party. That low-calibre of food should not cost that much. We spent over $50. It should not cost that much. I'd be happy to pay if the taste lived up to it, but it did not.

Do yourself a favour and save yourself some money and go literally anywhere else for a burger: Wendy's value menu, Burger King, Johnny Fresco's--any of those offer better taste for...

Definitely high quality meat and ingredients, and filling! Amazing food, large portions at inexpensive prices!

The day I left this review was opening day for the Waterloo Burgers Priest location. I picked the right time to go because even on opening day I was able to place my order within 4 minutes of arrival, this is during Red Zone Covid time. The host, somehow despite all the chaos behind her was able to hear and and repeat my entire order back to me and I give kudos to them for being so organized on day 1, I've eaten at other restaurants opening day, and usually I have something a little more negative to say about it. But not here. They were ready and once I had my receipt I was kindly led outside again to where the side window was used to hand out orders one by one.

My wait outside was probably about 15-20 minutes but that was fine to be fair, they were busy and it didn't affect my experience.

Food was labeled, and neatly packed, and despite not having a kids option, I was able to find stuff for my kids to eat as well (hot dog, and basic hamburger, with preferred toppings).

I'll go down a list in quick detail about the my items

"Mains" all four of my families main item was cooked to perfection, made correctly and tasted amazing. We liked the fact that the burgers are smaller than advertised, because we were a little scared of the size in the photos. My oldest child had the hamburger and as a picky 7yr old actually ate all of it with no complaints at all which is a big win. Meat was seasoned just enough to taste but not over power, and my wifes panko crust mushroom patty was delightful.

Fries , very large portions, and cooked great, the added cheeses and chili on mine added to the grease factor causing some sogginess, but thats overlooked when I judge chili cheese fries. The chili had a slight kick but other than that the fries were great.

For a first day open, and review im excited to see what else their menu has in store for my tastebuds on the next visit. And there will definitely be a next visit.

I saw a few of the other patrons with milkshakes also

Thanks again guys and hope your opening day/week goes along smoothly and with...

I had exactly the same terrible experience of the person who posted a review 5 days ago, where curbside pick up customers are simply left waiting.

I parked, clicked “I am here”, and the app told me the food was still being prepared and that I should wait for further instructions. The sign explicitly says to not leave the car after clicking the button, so I just waited. The employee at the window kept calling customer names, so I assumed my name would be called.

I waited 25 minutes, the app was still showing a message saying my order was being prepared and not ready yet. I decided to go inside and ask anyway, and learned that my order actually was ready for who-knows-how-long and just sitting in a shelf. The employee said they never received a notification saying I was here. When I brought my order home, the food was already cold.

If your app and your point-of-sale systems don’t work properly, don’t offer a service that isn’t actually available. Just ask customers to enter the store instead of pretending curbside pick up is available.

Edit: I just read 3 other reviews here complaining about exactly the same thing. One of them from 1 year ago! It’s unbelievable they are not addressing a problem that has been happening for 1...
