Billie Jax Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Whitby

I had a very disappointing experience at your restaurant recently. My friends and I are regulars and usually come in every Monday. Two weeks ago, we came in for wings and were served by a man with a beard. He brought my friend’s wife a dirty cup with food stuck to the side. When I approached him about it, he responded with an attitude, grabbed another cup, and sarcastically asked, “Is this good enough for you?” After that, he completely ignored our table. I decided not to leave a tip, and when he noticed, he said, “I will not be serving your table again.”

Then yesterday, we came in again and Jasmine was working. She told us to sit wherever we liked, so we chose a spot in the back left corner. After we sat down, another couple and a family of five came in after us, and Jasmine served them first. I approached her and asked to speak with a manager. She looked extremely stressed and explained that she was the only one working and that the place was very busy. While I understood her situation, I mentioned that we were passed over despite arriving earlier. She apologized sincerely, but the situation still felt unfair and disorganized, especially on such a hot and crowded day.

Today, I called to speak with a manager about these concerns. The person who answered asked why I wanted to speak to a manager and said they wouldn't call me back unless I explained my reason. I briefly told her we had a few issues during our visits, and she said, "Yeah, they might call you back, but I doubt it." She took my name and number, but I haven’t received a call.

It’s really disappointing because the wings are amazing, but the way some of the staff treats customers is not acceptable and reflects poorly on your business. I hope management takes these...

After such a pleasant experience yesterday with great service by Nicole (who hands down makes the best Cesar I have ever had) my sister and I enjoyed everything we had. Service was impeccable! Food was great. Good job Nicole.

That being said, this afternoon my sister and I decided we wanted to come back and enjoy lunch and a Cesar again. We entered the restaurant and told the waitress (don’t know her name but she was working today at 2:30pm) that we wanted two Cesar’s. When they arrived they were not the same: so I kindly asked her to bring us some horse radish and a pickle and a menu. Yes I had to ask for a menu. When she returned she didn’t bring the menus. We were already disappointed with the Cesar’s not being the same but that wasn’t a huge deal.

I asked her, miss can we please have Menus . That’s when she turned to us i from of two other customers and Rudley replied “yup I only have two hands” and that’s when we both decided that we were no longer interested and decided we would not be dining for lunch at Billy Jax. And we left.

I hat a disappointing experience because we were so satisfied with yesterdays service we decided that was our new spot for Cesar’s and lunch. As of now we will not be returning if that waitress is there. I am a waitress and I assure you I would never treat customers that rudely EVER. And I would bring a menu first thing when I seat them to avoid having “both my hands full” if they had to ask.

Yesterdays service though, with Nicole and the rest of the staff was amazing!

🛑 BUTTERNUT SQUASH REAVIOLI is no longer on the menu! 😭

We dined at Billie Jax during lunchtime, savoring the relaxed and rustic ambiance of the barnyard setting provided by the establishment. Commencing our meal, we indulged in a refreshing chilled Pepsi. For our appetizer, we opted for the Calamari, which was accompanied by an exquisite combination of hoisin garlic sauce and a drizzle of ranch. The calamari was impeccably cooked, enhanced by the delightful addition of red and green peppers that contributed to the overall flavor profile.

Perusing the lunch menu, I settled upon the Small Chicken Penne, featuring sautéed chicken and bell peppers, paired with a delectable Alfredo sauce. The dish proved to be exceptionally delectable and satisfying, to the point that the portion size was far from "small," as I ended up taking home leftovers. Meanwhile, my companion chose the Billie Jax Burger, accompanied by a Caesar salad. Their continuous praises about the burger's scrumptiousness and its ability to fill them up were hard to ignore.

Remarkably, our waitress Emily left a lasting impression. Despite tending to over 10 tables single-handedly, she exhibited exceptional service. Her unwavering availability and attentiveness were evident as she memorized our orders and even recited them along with the specific modifications we had requested when placing the plates before us.
