This was my first visit to Pizza Rock and I was not disappointed. Upon arrival my mother and I were greeted with a smile and a bit of light conversation, basically describing the pastas and pizza options. Both the girl at the till and the gentleman making the pizzas were very friendly and happy to help is with our order.
I eventually ordered a medium Matriciana(Bacon tomato) pizza, with mozzarella sticks, and a brio to drink, mom had their crab cakes and a bottle of water. Our food was quickly prepared and served in about 10-15 minutes, smelling absolutely fantastic and looking like I would be back again for more in the future.
I had never had wood oven pizza before and I was in for a treat but I decided to have the mozzarella sticks first and I was not wrong with my choice. The seasoning in the breading was flavourful and light, the mozzarella used added to it to make it a bite of joy, I was about to have the best meal of 2020 at the beginning of the year.
As I can't have seafood or shellfish I left them to mom and she enjoyed every bite. Three crab cakes per one order, and each was a generous size, mom was not disappointed either.
Now on to the pizza, the reason I had come to Pizza Rock in the first place. It was hand made using fresh ingredients and baked in a wood oven, I was excited to try it. The first bite was an explosion of flavour, fresh tomato and bacon, combined with the flavors of asiago and mozzarella, extra virgin olive oil, basil, oregano, rosemary and black pepper all fighting to assault my tastebuds with amazing taste and personality. Underneath it all tho was a slight hint of smokiness imparted from a wonderfully cooked thin crust, and it perfectly accentuated the other flavours. 100% best pizza I have ever had, hands down.
The experience was topped off with the location, with modern looking chairs and tables and a bit of smooth jazz playing in the background. For the $40 spent, the food and experience was well worth it, I will be returning...
Read moreIncredible pizza spot!!! Absolutely amazing pizza and excellent service.
I called ahead and asked to book a party table. They said that although they do not take reservations, they would book us in and keep a few tables available to us. I let them know what time I would be coming and pre-ordered from the menu to make things easier since there were 12 of us. The food was hot and ready when we arrived and the tables were all set up for us. The staff was incredibly accommodating and even gave us a knife, paper plates, and cutlery for our cake. They offered candles since I forgot those, and they gave us a container of delcious cookies and biscotti treats as a gift to take home.
Everyone raved about the pizza!! The crust was probably the best I've ever had, and their spicy chicken pizza was so good that even my husband, who can't handle spice, tried to eat an entire slice because it was so flavourful.
The price was also very reasonable! We had 6 large pizzas, 20 drinks, and 7 dips. I think it came to $140 with tax.
I would highly recommend that spot and will be returning...
Read moreUnfortunately our experience this evening was not comparable to our first. We placed an order by phone for pick up. The order was verbally confirmed at the conclusion of the phone call. I ordered 2 lrg pizzas and 1 medium. One of our pizzas was a BYO. The sausage that was placed on our pizza was not what we had experienced previously. It was not crumbled authentic sausage but more like processed hot dog quality meat. We also ordered extra sausage and oregano. When we arrived, they had 3 medium pizzas instead of 2 large. No oregano or extra sausage, but appeared to be extra cheese. A gentleman that was making the pizzas was kind enough to add a large BYO at no charge and we appreciate that, however, we were overall disappointed with the incorrect ingredients on our BYO. The other two types of pizzas were made just fine. I have since noticed that the website lists two different sausages. It would perhaps help if the person taking the orders would clarify the ingredients with the customer to ensure the final product is satisfactory to...
