The food here is excellent along with the portions. My only complaint is the service is very poor. We have been here many times with tables of 4 to 6 and each time is the same with no improvement. It does not matter if it's a busy dinner rush or a slow day.
Example. You will be seated. You can ask for drinks however they might not come out for 20 mins. Even If it's just water. You might ask for a tea that has to be made in the back and the waitress has forgotten a number of times to bring it out. Last time it was at the end when we paid the bill. The funny part was she still wanted to charge me for it.
We have asked on separate occasions to have our appetizers come our before our main meal and that has yet to happen. We have had to asked for a refill of our drinks as the food can be spicy and you just get forgotten about.
Our last party we had to ask for cutlery/ napkins as we had food served and then the waitress went in the back to possibly make the food as well? There is no checking in to see how the food is or if you need anything. Often you will finish you will have to stand around the cash register to prompt the staff that you are done and would like to pay.
I have worked in the industry before and the service appears to be the same if it's busy or not. Sadly this does effect your tip for the front and back staff. I don't know if it's a lack or awareness however I hope to change my review here if...
Read moreI recently visited Lakeview Tandoori Bistro, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience overall. While the view from the restaurant is undeniably beautiful, with a lovely lakeside ambiance that sets a great first impression, that's where the positives end.
The service was extremely slow, and it felt like the staff were either overwhelmed or simply uninterested in attending to their customers. We waited far too long for our food, and when it finally arrived, it was mediocre at best. The dishes lacked the authentic flavors you'd expect from a tandoori restaurant and were just bland and uninspiring.
The beautiful view might lure you in, but sadly, the poor service and subpar food make it hard to recommend this place. A real shame, as this bistro has so much potential if only the quality of the service and food matched the...
Read moreSo happy they are here and serving (by this first sample) excellent food.
We got some of the classics: butter chicken, channah masala, rice Palau, samosas and naan.
We were surprised by how sweet the channah masala was, and I’m not sure I’d get it in the samosas again. It wasn’t bad - at all - just unexpected.
Update: second visit we added tandoori chicken, chicken tikka, and lamb vindaloo.
The butter chicken is more sauce than meat, so having the extra sides of cooked chicken was great. I recommend the tikka as the best supplement.
Also, the lamb vindaloo was excellent and not too spicy like most vindaloos, but it was slightly gamey... I assume it's not local,...
