A&W Canada — Restaurant in Winnipeg

Why is this location open? We arrived in drive thru at 11:38am on Sunday morning. The menu boards were still displaying breakfast. I asked if they were serving lunch, the response was, "I can make a burger if you want." We opted to order two sausage and egger combos with coffee. We paid and were asked to drive around to the front, as our meal was going to be 5-minutes. After over 5-minutes, I went into the location to see how things were going. The individual was just finishing up making our sandwiches. When he was done, he bagged them and handed the bag to me and apologized for the wait. I then asked about the coffee...there wasn't any. He commenced making a fresh urn using the existing used coffee grinds from the last urn (or more). As we had a timed event to attend, I took our meal and coffee and left, after waiting more than 20-minutes. Not a single bite of food or a sip of coffee could be completed. The hash browns tasted like freshly dipped oiled potatoes; the sausage egger tasted old and off; and the coffee, while hot, had zero flavour. Customer service was likely the worst I've ever seen at a fast food establishment. So terrible that it drove me to write my first ever review of a restaurant.

The gentleman working the counter kept his head down and didn't notice me until a few minutes of waiting. I ordered 2 mama burgers and he asked something completely unintelligible due to how quietly they were mumbling. Upon me asking to repeat what they said as I didn't understand, they snapped at me: 'Do you want Cheese?! Or not?!' as if I had just insulted their mother. Upon handing me my order, they again mumbled something to me that I'm not sure I want to know the meaning of. It was not 'Have a nice day' in any case. I don't consider myself hard of hearing; this was something else and consistent with the other reviews I've seen here.

Clearly the workers here do not want to do their job and are miserable. The burgers were okay, but they were thrown together with clear spite that made them hard to enjoy.

Used to just order coffee with cream. They Out of this, out of this out of that they don't tell you instead substitute it with skim milk, something i did not ask for. Cannot even get coffee right. Coffee Tasted toxic that day as if they just topped old coffee with unchanged filter was terrible first thing in the morning, tasted toxic much like the voices of tongue judging each patron to walk in while being ridiculed. The Washrooms here are locked where you have to be escorted and wait for permission by the key controller (locks automatically) maybe the staff here are treated inhumanely?? Possibly overworked? Why do the staff here treat customers or deli drivers like a dirty number. Very disingenuous. What's next a hole in the ground for the Washrooms? I don't expect that in Canada.
