Everything tastes old now. This place has gone down hill and you could tell by the owners responses they know it. I asked for the price of an item that was behind the glass and the employee said they didn't know so I couldn't even buy it.

Also couldn't help but notice they're giving themselves fake 5 star reviews

At first I thought the owner was just dumb because he seems to not understand the concept of buying multiple items or coming into the store more than once, hence why I know it has significantly dropped in quality. But I now realize that the owner is also a liar, because the foie gras does not infact have a price listed showing your incompetence yet again. Congratulations, you purchased a perfect bakery with the blueprint for the success and still ran it straight into the ground. Now instead of taking criticism like an adult and understanding where you need to improve you cry like a child and throw a tantrum when someone gives you an honest review. Sad and pathetic behavior

I could barely make sense of that illiterate jargon, please learn to write properly if you expect me to read more than half your message.

The foie gras is in plain view behind the glass just like all the pastries. You don't even know what your own bakery looks like. How would I even know you carried it if it wasn't on display? Please try using your brain or are you just trying to lie again?

It's no wonder why you cant even keep a perfectly running business together, you seem to be illiterate and incapable of thinking.

And the only fake reviews are the ones posted by your own employee's which you can clearly see when you click on their name, you aren't even good at hiding it. Everything you're accusing the low reviewers of, you are guilty of yourself. Thats called projecting.

Last edit: After being caught on multiple lies the owner has removed their original response attempting to insult and intimidate me for leaving an honest review hence why my replies may not make perfect sense out of context. BEWARE of this place if the owner is willing to lie and deceive so easily I'd seriously question the health and safety standards...

Visited for the very first time today “ A l’Epi de blé “ I honestly could not let another second go by without posting a review. Upon entering the bakery, I was greeted with the most radiant and friendliest smile by this wonderful young lady. Don’t know her name ( gorgeous, blond with such a pleasant positive attitude) I observed her serving other customers in front of me, and it was very refreshing to witness such a splendid attitude towards the customers. Everyone was treated with great respect and in the upmost professional matter making sure that everyone left happy. She was able to answer absolutely every question I asked her in regards to bread and baking goods. I was also very impressed in how she suggested different items. Great job you young lady! Keep up the great work and never loose your beautiful smile. You secured a returning customer. To the owners of this bakery: I am so very impressed with the cleanliness and organization in your store. Thanks to my very dear friends Monique and Ernesto, who told me to come to your store from the very first time they came to your bakery ... and I never made the drive out there. Today it just happened and being from Belgium, I feel right at home. Thank you for hiring this wonderful young lady and thank you for relocating to Winnipeg Canada 🇨🇦 and making it possible to have the French bakery for everyone to enjoy. People!! Go and try it out and don’t wait this long as I did as you are missing out. It will be your best decision ever. I’m aware that this bakery is under new ownership so I have a lot of patience. The people working there are wonderful and friendly! The pastries look delicious. This bakery has always been a favourite of mine. However, the last two times I have been in have been such a disappointment. The first time I received beautiful pastries, but I am certain they were old. The donut was hard/stale, nothing like the soft fluffy cream filled beignets I was previously used to with this bakery. There a couple other items I tried that also tasted old compared to how they used to be. I figured it was a one off, we all have our off days and I gave it another chance. I often purchase $40-60 in single pastries alone and my most recent experience was similar when it came to the product tasting old/stale. Unfortunately, I won’t be back and this makes me very sad. Out of the many items I purchased, only one was what I would consider consumable. The products here used to be top line, worth the hefty prices! It is no more though, don’t waste your money.

Edit: I am sorry you are not coping well with your negative reviews. Unfortunately, no one needs your approval on a negative review, it just shows your lack of accountability. The recipes may be the same, but I can take a recipe a 5 star chef makes.. does not mean I will make it the same. The selection is wonderful, and I see others have commented on this as well because there is always lots.. I suspect a downfall to your stock is that you make too much and sell day olds the next day, which she be disclosed to customers if they are coming into a bakery expecting something fresh and paying around $5 per item .
