Big Smoke Burger — Restaurant in Winnipeg

Editing to add: only after I sat back down did I realize this cashier DID NOT change her gloves before slicing and adding the tomatoes to my burger. If any customers fall ill after consuming any of the burgers containing tomatoes after 3:40pm Sunday November 24th, you can single handedly thank the employee who is blatantly disregarding health and safety protocols. This is absolutely the first thing I will be mentioning if I hear anyone talking about Big Smoke Burger. Absolutely disgusting.

Don't waste your money. Overpriced for the absolutely terrible service they provide. I was excited to try this place because I heard great things. But never again. Wouldn't even recommend it to someone I hated. Ordered a big cheddar smokey burger. At no point did the cashier taking my order say they did not have tomatoes. Only when I unwrapped the burger after the other person with me ,who ordered from there, mentioned not having any. At which point I went back to request a refund because I ordered based on toppings as per their premade menu. She then says she can go cut one ? It's not rocket science to be informing your customers of an extra wait or to take their item without when something isn't immediately available. Instead , said cashier gives me attitude because THEY didn't make it right or communicate missing items. On top of that, I had already gone back once to get the green onions on the poutine as ADVERTISED as one of the ingredients on the menu. After adding the tomatoes, I was snarkily asked if anything else was missing from the burger. Excuse me ? I shouldnt be inspecting my ENTIRE order for the ingredients these items COME WITH. No part of my order was...

As someone who loves food but specifically burgers this place deserves all the love it isn’t getting, please do not let the 3.5 star turn you away

First of all these burgers are cooked fresh on a grille they do have a little bit of the char-broil taste to them ( crispy outside juicy inside )

So let’s break it down. To start the bun, patty and flavours all blend together whether you are getting their classic option or you want to spend a little more dollar - all the way goes well too

The bun is a beautifully constructed brioche with a buttered top. It frustrates me that these guys have a resource for these buns, believe me Sobeys would have a run for my money if they carried them.

In person they top the bun right in-front of your eyes so you can make adjustments if you really wanted to or you can have the pleasure of letting your mouth drool while you wait.

Lastly their fries, perfectly golden brown fried I want to say they taste like five guys fries if they weren’t cooked in peanut oil with a lot more crunch definitely not the staple of the brand but non the less it isn’t a reason for them to be held back.

I’m pretty picky with my reviews I love it or hate it this, this right here is the best quick burger you’ll get in this city forget Nuburger, five guys and fat burger you won’t have the same quality you get with the bread and beef.

I don’t know why you’d go anywhere else in this mall for lunch other then here, easy 5 star let’s get these guys the rating...

After outlet shopping calls for food!

We decided to try Big Smoke Burger for the first time because their line ups are always long and full of people and wanted to see what the hype was all about.

Pros: First, there are many options to choose from!

Food is made fresh and in front of you. Servers follow your order to a T, especially if you requested for no mustard, no bacon, etc. due to allergies/to your preference.

I will give 4/5 stars because the French fries were just so tasty and delicious. Had that extra crisp and the perfect saltiness. No wonky soggy fries.

Cons: Even though there wasn’t a big line when it was our turn, it took SO long for our burgers and fries to cook.

The meals were a bit overpriced for classic burger + cheeseburger combo and the burger wrapping bags were super oily so the paper bag had oil on the bottom (not that big of a deal though, just notifying for reference).

Their front counter space could use a nice cleaning/ dusting as you can see from the pic (there is dust) on the menu near their till.

Other than that, I did come back recently and will decide which other burgers/combos to try...
