Last few days ago I along with my some friends went to Cilantro restaurant (portage brunch) to break our fasting in the evening. We had a terrible experience with restaurant manager or probably he was owner. First we have ordered some fish pakoras by call. They offered a deal to us for outgoing. After arrival, we suddenly thought we don't have much time to visit mosque. So we decided to dine in and asked for permission from restaurant employee. He gave us good signal. Once we start eating and ordering more food, we have noticed a guy coming to us in attacking mood. He stood up and asked us why are we eating inside the restaurant. We said him we were supposed to go some other places but due to time shortage we can't, that's why we are eating inside and ordering more food. He said that order is for pickup, you can not eat here. I told him there was a miscommunication with his employee about dine in and pick up order. He didn't want to listen anything. He seemed very rude in his behavior and did not give us any opportunity to settle down order issues. I asked him, so do you want us to eat the pakoras outside restaurant and come back again for dine in order. His answer was you can whatever you want, he doesn't care. His total behavior was completely 👎insane and stupid. I personally worked in service industry, so I know how important it is to deal with customers. But it seemed like he did not count us as customers. I did not bargain with him anymore since I was fasting. I would recommend the comment readers, please think twice before you go to this restaurant. If a manager doesn't know how to behave properly with customers then he shouldn't be manager. He should take training first then go to that role. I will urge everyone to boycott this restaurant until they change their behavior to the customers. Thank you for taking time to...
Read moreReview in a line; Great food, Awesome staff and amaazing samosas.
Detailed review :D I’ll be honest, the primary reason we went there for the samosas - thanks to the promo for Samosa week where samosas are for$0.50ea (veggie/potato I believe, we took the potato). It was disappointing to know that the deal is only for takeaway so we decided to try other stuff (i am glad we did 😂). We tried Dahi Puri/Pani (not sure about the name but you’ll see if you go there 😁), Chat Papri and Aalo Tikki something.
On a scale of 10 Chat Papri was a 10, Dahi Pani/Puri was 9.5 and Aalo Tikki something was a 6.
We were out of luck that they ran out of chat papri but it was aamaaaazinggg!!!
Everything was fresh, the taste was amazing, good nice place and most importantly Sam catered us so patiently as we were ordering in bits and Sam was very supportive and courteous until we were finally done. No pictures for the food, i know it’s not fair but we were so indulged in it that i totally forgot that i have to write a review too 😂 But not to worry, we’ll be going there soon and that time we’ll get pictures of the...
Read moreI recently visited Cilantro's restaurant with three of my friends, and unfortunately, we had a terrible experience. We ordered some fish pakoras for takeout after speaking to an employee who had told us to order the takeout offer as it is a better deal and dine in to order more food at the same time. However, when we started placing our orders for our main dishes, the manager rudely interrupted us and confronted us of eating inside when the pakoras were for takeout only. Even though we explained to the manager about the miscommunication with the employee and apologized for any confusion, the manager continued to be rude and confrontational towards us. His unfriendly attitude and lack of customer service skills made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable, to the point that we decided to leave and take our business elsewhere. Overall, I was disappointed by the lack of professionalism and customer service skills exhibited by the manager at Cilantro's restaurant. Due to his rude behavior we will not be returning anytime soon. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a pleasant...
