Just experienced the absolute worst service of a lifetime. The food was delicious but I am not sure if the server was new or overworked, it was just one error after the other. We ordered 2 butter chicken thali and asked if the thali comes with gulab jamun and the server responded with a yes. The server asked what kinda naan bread we would like and we said garlic naan please, if possible. The server leaves and shortly after we receive food.....We received one bowl of butter chicken, one order of garlic naan and another order of plain naan. We were confused becaue it didn't look like the chicken thali we had ordered. I offered to pay for the garlic naan since they had already prepared it, sent back the bowl of butter chicken, and requested the 2 chicken thalis instead. We received the correct order this time, but we had no cutlery. Upon request we received the cutlery and finally started eating. The food was delicious and we enjoyed it very much. After we finished our food, the server brought out an order of gulab jamuns. Again, this was not our order, but hey, we love gulab jamun. She's probably super busy and it's okay. We were totally chill at this point too. We asked for a spoon because our table was cleared before we got the gulab jamun and we had no cutlery. The server got busy and couldn't bring us the spoon. After a few minutes, she retuned to ask if we like the gulab jamun. Bruh! We have no spoon. By this time I was losing patience but I stayed quiet coz I don't want to ruin someone's evening. Finally, we received the bill. I paid 20% tip coz we all have bad days and I didn't want to be mean. The transaction completed and I noticed that I was charged extra for a butter chicken that we never ordered or received. I was so pissed by this time and requested for a refund on the extra product. The server offered to give us an order of butter chicken instead, but we didn't want it in the first place. SMH! On insisting she retuned $19 for the butter chicken we were charged, but overall the experience was absolutely terrible. We overpaid for garlic naan, gulab jamuns and were charged for the butter chicken too that was sent back.
Before we got the bill, we were convinced that it was probably just a bad day and we would love to return at least a couple times every month. After this incident I am so disappointed. The food was excellent but the service was the absolute worst.
If needed, our table number was 18, transaction...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn the past this has been one of our families favourite restaurants. At one point we were ordering or eating at every week. Iāve provided great reviews in the past as well. I am thinking there maybe has been a management change to reflect the downturn in service quality. I recently ordered a butter chicken meal for 21 people for take out. The amount of butter chicken provided was close to 4 large butter chicken orders but it was almost twice as expensive or the 4 large as they also charge extra for the rice. This was about enough for 10 people not 21. This isnāt exaggerated at all either as I showed them the comparison. They didnāt care. Iāll keep going on complaints now. Also on one recent experience while dining in the staff officered us the more private room over the phone as we were a big party of 14. No other details were provided. I told everyone that was where we were sitting. Others arrived before me to find the waitress say that they made a mistake and that there was an up-charge for this space. I advised that we were offered the space by them but they already set our table to be in the open space prior to arriving. I was already embarrassed so I didnāt go further with the manager. No one even used the private space while we were there. It was really a bad choice for the rest of the restaurant as we were loud with laughing and talking. I let it go at that time but after this rip off butter chicken order Iām annoyed. I even waited to make this review to see if it was worth it. Iāll throw another one in as well now too. My kids ordered mild butter chicken meals as they normally do but it came hot and they couldnāt eat as they normally do(I would say possibly 50 times plus they have order this same meal) I politely mentioned it and I was told some baseless excuse about yogurt not being in it(that would be the cooks issue). Nothing was done. I let that go too. After years of eating here the restaurant has lost its appeal to me lately. All of these issues are from this year. I loved...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDear Clay Oven Management,
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service and food quality provided during a recent event held at your restaurant. We organized a party and opted for a buffet service, but several issues marred our experience:
Service Delays: The service was significantly delayed, causing inconvenience to our guests. Improperly Filled Chafing Dishes: The buffet was not properly maintained, with several chafing dishes not being filled adequately. Broken Commitments: The commitments made by your staff were not honored. Unprofessional Behavior: Both the employees and the owner exhibited unprofessional behavior by lying and covering for each other. Food Quality Discrepancy: The food we tasted before the party and the food served during the event were markedly different in quality and taste, which was disappointing. Despite raising this issue, your staff did not accept this discrepancy. Compensation Issue: While you offered compensation for the poor service, it was followed by a complaint about our behavior to our chief guest, which was uncalled for and highly unprofessional. Disrespectful Treatment: We were treated disrespectfully, which is unacceptable.
Despite receiving an apology , the behavior was repeated, showing a lack of genuine concern for customer satisfaction. As a result, I will not recommend your restaurant to anyone.
It is essential for businesses to value their customers and strive to improve when feedback is provided. Unfortunately, your actions demonstrated otherwise, and I hope you will take this feedback seriously to prevent such incidents...
