Dal's Restaurant & Lounge — Restaurant in Winnipeg

My wife and I decided last weekend that we would give this restaurant a try as we are new to the area. To say the least it did not live up to the so called hype whatsoever. I wish I could rate 0 stars for this abysmal restaurant.

Ordered pickup for 5:30pm, and then had to wait in a ridiculously hot waiting area for ten minutes on top of the thirty I’d already waited at home. This “lobby” is also used as a storage area for bread and food products, which is blatantly against health code regulations since customers wait in there for their orders and have access to all this product.

Employees were throwing food and garbage all over the floor, there’s not even a garbage can in the entire kitchen. I saw cooks touching raw hamburger patties and then making peoples burgers and food without washing their hands.

On top of that, the cooks in the kitchen were swearing and dripping sweat all over the food that they’re serving to people. Honestly so gross. For the money this place must make you would think the owners could install air conditioning in the kitchen? Absolutely disgusting, and obscenely hot in the kitchen and waiting area.

People raving about the fries here might be interested to know that they come in a box and are just simple frozen french fries that anyone can buy at the grocery mart.

It’s amazing what goes on in this kitchen when they obviously know the customers can see them and are standing right there. And I’ve only ever been here once...

Our pizza was over-cooked and the crust was hard, I asked for extra cheese and we got no extra cheese, and the mushrooms on the pizza clearly came from a can. The fried chicken was stale, cold, soggy, and practically inedible. Poutine had next to no cheese and gravy on it, and they use shredded mozzarella instead of cheese curd. Fries were over cooked and way to crispy and drenched in salt. This food was pretty much all tossed into the garbage can. Biggest waste of $75 I’ve ever spent.

For the amount of people that rave about this restaurant, I cannot for the life of me see why. I’ve never had such horrible food served to me in my life, and to think it cost almost $100. I wouldn’t have fed that slop to my dog.

Terrible. Consider my rating a zero out of five. We will never be back and I would strongly suggest you reconsider ordering food from this establishment unless you enjoy your food being salted with the sweat of overworked employees who can’t serve edible food to...

Used to order Dals all the time but hadn't gone in awhile so checked it out recently. I called ahead and ordered a single fat boy and a Greek salad. When I arrived to pick up my order I was informed at that time that they were out of chili that the burger was supposed to come with. That would have been helpful information when I had ordered it ahead of time. I decided to get it anyways because it wasn't sure if they had already made it. I gave a small tip so for the burger and the salad it cost me almost $30! The burger ended up being terrible. The quality of the ingredients were not very good and The taste was not great. Portion size was small. The Greek salad was absolutely terrible. The dressing was some weird gross dressing that I've never seen before. I'm really happy I stuck my finger in it before putting it on my salad because I would have ended up throwing the whole thing out. It was in no way a Greek dressing in fact I think it had some kind of thousand island dressing in it? There was next to nothing in the salad, barely any ingredients. May have had some feta? The black olives were store-bought canned olives and they tasted cheap and awful. I ended up picking them out and throwing them out. Not only was the portion size tiny but the quality was just terrible and I will never order the Greek salad from here ever again. In fact I definitely cannot see me coming back anytime soon for anything on the menu. It's unfortunate that they've taken such a hit and had to decrease the quality of the food so much because this used to be a really great place to eat. Walked in the door and was immediately greeted and seated. Place is nice and clean. Service was not good. The girl spoke so quietly that we couldn’t understand half of what she was saying. We ordered the cheese toast for an appetizer and had to ask for silverware when she sat it down on the table and began to walk away. She brought back two sets of silverware and two napkins. No plate to use for our appetizer. We ordered the bacon cheeseburger with fries and because the reviews say a lot of good things about the food, fried chicken included, I ordered the chicken and rib combo. I specifically said to our server that “ I wanted the chicken and rib combo, with the half rack of ribs and two pieces of chicken “ and asked for the soup as the option between soup, salad or fries. my soup showed up promptly and was pretty tasty. When the food arrived and she put down a full rack of ribs with fries on the side. I told her that’s not what I ordered and she took the plate back. Shortly she came back with the plate and said to have this, my chicken will be out shortly. The ribs and chicken were really good ! But our glasses sat empty far too long. We recommend getting take out on the ribs and chicken. One last thing was the menu says the burgers come with thick cut bacon but the bacon looked like it was the stuff they use at...
