We ordered Black Friday buy one bucket get one free deal on Friday Nov. 29. So we ordered a 14 pc bucket and gor 2 with some fries and gravy. We picked it up and brought it home. Out of 28 pieces, 10 were drumsticks 14 were thighs, one was a keel and 3 were wings. ONE PIECE OF PROPER WHITE MEAT out of 28. Worse yet, the bottoms of the buckets had POOLS of grease. I mean it is deep fried, but you need to properly drain it. By pools of grease, in both buckets there was more than a quarter cup of liquid oil at the bottom of each.
We filled out an online survey and asked to be contacted before posting this review in hopes of giving them an opportunity to correct this and got silence.
KFC is fast food but it has a standard you expect crispy pressure fried chicken that is not dripping in grease and soggy. Also, last I checked, a chicken has 2 breasts, 2 wings 2 thighs and 2 drums with 1 keel for 9 pieces. Out of 28, we didnt even get one chicken worth of white meat. AND this "deal" still cost $60 for nearly inedible chicken (not because it was just dark meat but because it was literally DRIPPING grease soggy).
UPDATE: I finally got a response. Here it is. - i find it unsatisfying

Read moreCertainly a welcome location that brings the KFC experience a fair ways closer to Transcona proper. This KFC is run by a different franchisee as opposed to all of the Hi-Flyer franchises. One important omission is that this isn't also a combo Taco Bell location like all of Hi-Flyer's standalone spots, so if you're after tacos and other things under that banner, you're still gonna have to go to the Panet location. The other welcome thing is that pricing is a little cheaper over the Hi-Flyer locations, and who can say no to a little extra in their pockets? However it appears that you do get what you pay for as portion sizes seem to run a little lower the few times I've been here since it opened, though it's only bordered on egregious maybe once. It's a much different story totally on SkipTheDishes as it appears that online pricing on items is inflated versus what you pay in-person to the point where it winds up being even higher than what you would pay at a Hi-Flyer franchise (whereas those locations are consistent in-person and online with prices). I've uploaded two menu images so you can compare the difference between what you see and pay for in-person and on Skip (or a Hi-Flyer location the next time you're at one). That stinks, and I suspect that some people are getting unknowingly ripped off because they're not aware of that. I suspect that I'll still be visiting this particular KFC mostly for location convenience reasons (express bus accessibility in particular versus Panet) and the fact that it's a touch lighter on the wallet as the food's still pretty good, but if given the choice between the two, I would still happily spend a little extra at the Panet location on account of the fact that it's been around for a while and they have their...
Read moreWorst ordering process, worst staff, worst call center (aka "help") and worst food ever. I do not understand how KFC is still a restaurant. You cannot use any coupons at the drive through. They want you to order it online while in the drive through and it slows things down incredibly. Mostly because the online ordering doesn't work properly and if you want something different like no pickles on your chicken burger... too bad so sad. You cannot make changes to the food and get it the way you like, only how KFC thinks you'll like it. Anyways after way to long we end up spending $19 for 2 of the worst hunks of meat on a bun anyone has called a chicken burger. The roof of my mouth is sore from getting cut by the over cooked over breaded chicken finger they call a burger. Definitely the last time we waste money there and I can't wait to see them start to close up...
