So where do you go to if you want a hearty breakfast, homemade jams, excellent and prompt customer service and great ambiance all at 6:30 in the morning or if you are craving a full breakfast menu at 9:00 pm - both, 7 days a week? The answer is Falafel Place. Under the new ownership this restaurant is better than ever and is thriving. We are a big family and recently visited Falafel Place (10 year old to 70 year old) - every single one of us enjoyed the experience and food alike. Many pleasant surprises awaited us during our visit (which I am sure is first of many future visits). 1) The biggest pleasant surprise was that the entire menu (pictured here) was available at 6:30am! 2) for an complicated order for eight, everything came out quickly, correct and hot. 3) we are a big family but the restaurant seems to have been conceived to accommodate comfortably several larger groups all at once. 4) the space is decorated beautifully, is bright and clean. 5) the owner Jarrett himself took our order, served us and checked in from time to time to ensure we know we were looked after. Food was fresh, delicious and servings large. Falafel platter was my favorite although with a menu as big as their’s it is hard to pick one item. Highly recommended and an absolute must try! Excellent breakfast. Unexpectedly. I was looking for a breakfast spot to try and this place popped up on google. I saw the rave reviews and wanted to try it as the menu looked very eclectic and unique. I am not a local of Winnipeg and this is definitely a hidden gem. Upon arrival, I noticed a huge line up and packed restaurant, which is usually indicates 1 of 2 things or both: excellent food and/or really good prices. Pricewise, it is similar to most breakfast places looking at the menu beforehand. I got the falafel and eggs. You can choose how you want your eggs and choice of bread which is typical but they also ask you if you want onions, peppers and garlic in your hash. I opted for fried onions, I'll get garlic and peppers next time as well. Can also pick the hash base, yam vs potato vs beets or potato pancake. I opted for potato. Very good breakfast, despite the crowd, did not wait too long for the food to arrive. Falafel and eggs comes with two eggs, choice of bread (I chose pita), falafel, hummus and tahini. And of course your choice of hash. It was delicious. Highly recommend this place for breakfast. They have a large menu to try and I will definitely come back.

This was my favourite greasy spoon, until I went for dinner one day and saw a table of people all cutting yams and tomatoes. Only one of them appeared to work there, as he would get up frequently to go to the kitchen (At one point shaking the hand of some stranger in the kitchen who did not appear to work there). The rest did not look like employees, yet all were touching the food and taking turns at cutting in between checking their phones. The person who did work there touched the bottom of his chair, and his face, multiple times. Never saw anyone wash their hands. The stranger, who was wearing street clothes was in the kitchen making an omelette, touching the cheese and the omelette with his hands. It could have been his omelete, I don't know, but I don't know what he was doing there in the first place.

I went there with 5 other friends for Saturday brunch around 1pm. We were hoping the brunch rush would be by then. However, the place was packed. We probably waited 10 min to be seated which was quick amazing since 10 other people were waiting before us. We ordered some falafel breakfasts, falafel platters, lamb shawarma platter and few coffee. Coffee came right away and the server was so attentive to give the refill. It took probably more than 30min our food to be arrived. The lamb tasted great and everything else were average or slightly better. Nothing wrong with this place was I felt this place was a bit overrated regarding to taste. Their portion is big for the price for sure. There are very vegetarian friendly. I'd come back when I go out with non meat eater friends.

We used to come here years ago and thought this place was quite pleasant. We returned today and had the most awful experience. The servers got our order wrong twice. When they tried to fix one of the orders, they completely destroyed it. When we expressed concerns upon paying our food we were not offered any resolution for the uneaten meals. Instead, one of the cooks became confrontational, saying we were being rude to the staff when we simply expressed our concerns about their food. It is surprising to us that people still support places that serve terrible food and provide terrible service and experience for paying customers. Food - sloppy Service - sloppy Attitude - sloppy

Winnipeg's one of the best breakfast places to visit. This place also has some old tales of celebrities visiting (and had to wait like the rest) Fusion/blend american/middle east food. Bottomless coffee Fresh squeeze orange juice Homemade jam Homemade hot sauce Decent portions and food is prepared well. With the recent inflation the price tag for 5 was $108 (used to be ~$85 after pandemic. $60 prior to pandemic) Personally I find it appropriate for the food and service. They did not compromise service and I value this. Payment options are Cash or Debit ONLY. Plenty parking on the street and small number of parking on the back.
