So where do you go to if you want a hearty breakfast, homemade jams, excellent and prompt customer service and great ambiance all at 6:30 in the morning or if you are craving a full breakfast menu at 9:00 pm - both, 7 days a week? The answer is Falafel Place. Under the new ownership this restaurant is better than ever and is thriving. We are a big family and recently visited Falafel Place (10 year old to 70 year old) - every single one of us enjoyed the experience and food alike. Many pleasant surprises awaited us during our visit (which I am sure is first of many future visits). 1) The biggest pleasant surprise was that the entire menu (pictured here) was available at 6:30am! 2) for an complicated order for eight, everything came out quickly, correct and hot. 3) we are a big family but the restaurant seems to have been conceived to accommodate comfortably several larger groups all at once. 4) the space is decorated beautifully, is bright and clean. 5) the owner Jarrett himself took our order, served us and checked in from time to time to ensure we know we were looked after. Food was fresh, delicious and servings large. Falafel platter was my favorite although with a menu as big as their’s it is hard to pick one item. Highly recommended and an absolute must try! Excellent breakfast. Unexpectedly. I was looking for a breakfast spot to try and this place popped up on google. I saw the rave reviews and wanted to try it as the menu looked very eclectic and unique. I am not a local of Winnipeg and this is definitely a hidden gem. Upon arrival, I noticed a huge line up and packed restaurant, which is usually indicates 1 of 2 things or both: excellent food and/or really good prices. Pricewise, it is similar to most breakfast places looking at the menu beforehand. I got the falafel and eggs. You can choose how you want your eggs and choice of bread which is typical but they also ask you if you want onions, peppers and garlic in your hash. I opted for fried onions, I'll get garlic and peppers next time as well. Can also pick the hash base, yam vs potato vs beets or potato pancake. I opted for potato. Very good breakfast, despite the crowd, did not wait too long for the food to arrive. Falafel and eggs comes with two eggs, choice of bread (I chose pita), falafel, hummus and tahini. And of course your choice of hash. It was delicious. Highly recommend this place for breakfast. They have a large menu to try and I will definitely come back.

This was my favourite greasy spoon, until I went for dinner one day and saw a table of people all cutting yams and tomatoes. Only one of them appeared to work there, as he would get up frequently to go to the kitchen (At one point shaking the hand of some stranger in the kitchen who did not appear to work there). The rest did not look like employees, yet all were touching the food and taking turns at cutting in between checking their phones. The person who did work there touched the bottom of his chair, and his face, multiple times. Never saw anyone wash their hands. The stranger, who was wearing street clothes was in the kitchen making an omelette, touching the cheese and the omelette with his hands. It could have been his omelete, I don't know, but I don't know what he was doing there in the first place.

I am here right now and I have been waiting alittle over an hour for my food. The waiter a blonde guy is not friendly what so ever, almost felt like we were disturbing him because he had to take our order. I ordered the scrambled eggs, 2 sausages, 2 bacons, hash brown with onions with toast and jam and I received scrambled eggs, one sausage, two bacon hashbrowns with hot peppers that I can’t handle toast with no jam. When we asked for the jam again, it never came. My friend ordered poached eggs on her toast with hashbrowns with onions and garlic and two sausage sausages to Bacon and she received called toast that her poached eggs were not on. we waited over an hour for our food, but we watched so many people get orders coming in for takeout orders. We even watched people walk out because they waited over an hour and they had their food dropped off the table and the waiters and waitresses scratch their heads and wondered where there patrons went to so obviously they didn’t go check on their patrons very much for fresh waters or coffees. Grant you the food was good, I couldn’t eat very much of the hashbrowns cause of the spice. My friend is a regular but my first time and sadly will be my last. They didn’t even offer to reduce our bill for over the hour wait and order mess ups. Will not be back or recommend. And one of the sad parts was, when my friend talked to owner, everyone blamed the new cook but not the new cooks’ fault over bad service, long wait...

My wife and I recently revisited The Falafel Place after years of being away, and we were delighted to find that it still retains its fantastic charm. We both opted for the falafel breakfast, and it was an absolute delight for our taste buds. The falafel itself was flavorful, crispy on the outside, and perfectly seasoned on the inside. It was a satisfying and unique twist on a traditional breakfast, and it instantly became one of my favorite breakfast options.

One aspect that impressed us during our visit was the impeccable service. The staff at The Falafel Place were attentive, friendly, and genuinely seemed to care about providing a positive dining experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and promptly seated. The waitstaff was knowledgeable about the menu, and they happily answered our questions and provided recommendations. The efficient service added to the overall enjoyment of our meal.

Overall, our recent visit to The Falafel Place exceeded our already high expectations. The falafel breakfast was a standout dish that we can't wait to have again. Coupled with the great service and cozy atmosphere, this restaurant has solidified its place as one of our favourite breakfast spots. Whether you're a falafel enthusiast or simply looking for a unique and satisfying breakfast experience, I highly recommend giving The Falafel Place a try. You won't be...
