Was a staple and a favourite when I lived in Winnipeg. I may be ready for something new though. The space is on the smaller side and there’s times where it could be challenging to get a table. I think they do take reservations but we didn’t need one. We were seated right away. They have a rather large variety of sushi rolls, and they have some other meal options. The special rolls are always my favourite. They come with something like ten pieces- massive portion for the price. The rice is always fresh and there’s a great portion of fish/veggie to rice. You certainly get your moneys worth. Unfortunately the two rolls we picked last night were very similar and there wasn’t much variety. The Philadelphia roll was heavy on the cream cheese but the smoked salmon was delicious. The torch roll is always one of my favourites. I love the pickled radish and the wasabi & mustard sauces. There is no level of spice to them so it’s just a nice mish mash of flavours to enjoy. I opted for the chicken ramen (make it not spicy!). Their chicken katsu was always my favourite but I recommend ordering the chicken on the side so you can add it when you’re ready to eat it so it doesn’t get soggy and so that it retains its crunch. The ramen’s usually pretty good but I filled up pretty fast, and I found they had a very generous portion of ramen noodles to the other ingredients. The broth is very salty here. It was my favourite ramen place for years. We also shared an order of gyoza. They were tasty. My partner has the chicken bulgogi but wishes he’d gotten the beef in the end. There was more spice than sweet/tang to it. It came In a cute box with some veggies and rice. Overall was a pretty good dinner. Service was decent. There was one server on for the entire restaurant and I think she was busy at some points so it took us awhile to get our takeout containers. Of note: When you’re ready to order- close the menu as it prompts the serve staff to come take your order. When you’re done you approach the counter to pay. They don’t bring the bill or machine to you.

Edit: we have been here over 5 times now and we love it. The black garlic ramen is probably our favorite ramen in the city. Coming on a Tuesday is totally worth it! Staff have always been great and while water refilling could be done a bit more often it deserves a 5/5 for that ramen alone. (Previous review 4/5): Second time here and came based off a recommendation. The ramen itself- spicy fried chicken ramen 4.5/5 (was good and spicy!!, the fried chicken was good but obviously gets soggy really quickly) and 5/5 for the black garlic tonkatsu. We got seated very quickly, and service was good but we never did get our waters refilled- it was fairly busy but we ended up calling them over several times near the end- nothing horrible but I think filling of water should be expected. Takoyaki was very good and served quickly. Sushi is pretty pricey but looked well made! However, we would probably come back on a Tuesday because they have specials where ramen is 12.95!

I ordered spicy seafood ramen and it was completely different from what it was pictured in the menu (which had seafood like shrimps and mussels, etc...) . We were so disappointed when the the noodle came out. There was no seafood, all it had were noodle, 2 pieces of thinly sliced fishcakes and one boiled egg. There was completly no any seafoods at all. The restaurant later did compensate us a bowl of "seafood" which was so boring. What was more disappointing were the attitude of the owner. He shouted at us and we could not even understand completely what he was saying. We have tried a lot of ramen in the city and other ramens in food courts, but, this one at Kazoku is the worst in terms of taste and service. Definitely a waste of time and money.

Dined few times.

They do serve one of the best ramens (Kazoku and Yujiro are the best ramens)

They have the option to choose chicken broth as the ramen base (I don't have pork broth due to my religious beliefs) which isn't widely available. The portion of ramen is huge, a giant bowl with generous amount of noodle in it.

However, they are very stingy in terms of extras like chilli oil and another item I cannot recall (garlic oil or something). I have paid once for them to add into my ramen. They aren't great tastewise so don't bother paying extra to have them on the side.

The tasty sushis are more on the expensive side ($15+). The cheaper Sushis will definitely fill you up, but you might not be content with the fact of "eating outside"

Items I have personally tried in my multiple visits: spicy tuna sashimi(not worth the price tag, the pieces of tuna is tiny), spicy California roll, dynamite roll, crispy roll, caterpillar roll, rainbow roll, creepy roll, spicy chicken ramen and tempura ramen

Me and my wife dine out together. If I crave ramen and she is craving for sushi. This is the place we go regardless my long...

everything wrong with modern restaurants ... they want you to tip 15% or more, but don't want to do ANYTHING FOR IT. Is this just what young people are now? entitled brats?

Staff very inattentive, too busy trying to fill takeout orders, they seen to be the priority.

I had the Black Garlic Tonkatsu Ramen, very poor flavor and spice, tasted like dish water, ramen noodles under cooked and chewy.

I had a California roll which was actually very good, but I waited for a very long time for the attention of the waitress (takeout orders). When she asked if I was ready to go after I flagged her down, and I said yes, she just gestured with both hands towards the cash register like, "just go up and pay stupid..."

I had to ask if I could take my left-over ramen soup home, which she did not offer, she brought a container far too small for my leftovers. I tried my best to collect what I could but it just wound-up spilling everywhere on the table, because it was too small. I just left it there and went up to pay.

likely won't be back... far too much Asian food competition on south Pembina for such poor service and...
