Kim Chi - Korean Delight — Restaurant in Winnipeg

I love this place, I order it all the time. I have even filled out 3 stamp cards. I just ordered my food from there and I always get 4/chicken & extra Korean bbq sauce on the side or on the chicken (it’s like a reddish sauce they drizzle on the chicken). This is my second time ever at this location, first time they made it perfectly and including the sauce on the side. This time, they just drowned the rice in soy sauce and it was damn near inedible because of how salty it was and the chicken wasn’t cooked how it usually is. Genuinely just disappointed and ended up throwing it out. I tried to call but no one answered. I will go back tomorrow and explain what happened and depending on how it goes I’ll update my rating. However 99.99% of the time it’s 5/5 starts

Edit, I called back, I wasn’t given any useful information, which is unfortunate. I still love the food, but I’ll be sure to get it at the outlet mall instead.

I don’t know what’s up with with this location, I ordered food there & I was genuinely optimistic about it. It was so far so good, then I took a bite of the chicken. First of all, if you’re gonna have an attitude with your customers even though they're being super nice to you, maybe you shouldn’t be working in the food service industry.

The first time we went there, we already got bad vibes from the guy because he sounded rude for absolutely no reason, we just thought that maybe he was having a bad day, but NOOO. He was giving us an attitude as soon as we started ordering our food. Our food had a rotten taste, which we didn't wanna go back and ask him to remake it but the flavour was so strong we just decided to go back and ask AND AGAIN HE WAS GIVING US AN ATTITUDE.

We decided to go there a second time because they’re open after certain hours that other Kim chi places aren’t and again he was working there preceding to take our order with an attitude for no reason.

The last time i decided to go there, I went there because I wanted to see if they could do plain rice like I have done in different places, the simple answer would’ve been “no sorry we don’t do that” but the guy that’s always working there decided he wanted to get an attitude and flipped his whole screen around to show us that they didn’t have that in the menu, you could’ve simply said no and we could’ve either order something else or...

Ordered kalbi beef plate. The beef was 60% gristle. The stir fried veggies were several paper thin zucchini, 2 broccoli florets, 2 paper thin red bell pepper, and a heap of bean sprouts. No carrot, cauliflower, mushroom, or celery like most places. The food and drink was $19…

Restaurant was visibly unclean. Bathroom sink, door, mirror, surfaces all visibly dirty. Not wiped in months. The fountain drink island was dirty, missing straws; steel cabinet beneath visibly dirty. Tables, plastic chairs, walls above seating; all visibly unwiped. Food debris and dried liquid visible. Table legs, foot rests, all dirty. Floor not mopped under table legs, in months by the look of it. Windows and glass door all visibly unclean. Visited early, midday on a Monday.

Just a visibly dirty place that clearly does the bare minimum legal for clean up. Food was cheapest possible to cut corners and reduce cost. Over half the meat is gristle. Paper thin, cheap vegetables.
