🍖 Winnipeg's Legendary Korean Eats | Kimbaek Review

Had the gamjatang for takeout on the recommendation of a friend. Wowow! What an incredible deal! You get a generous portion of neck bone (highly prized for its tenderness and fat, seriously) in a perfectly spicy broth. Perhaps a little rich to finish it all, but I prefer a smaller, more intense experience. In addition to the main dish, a side of rice and four small containers of seaweed, bean sprouts, kimchi, and something else were provided. Each again had a very potent flavor. For instance, the sprouts were a bit acidic which paired very well with the rich broth. Now beyond the food, it is clear the restaurant cares deeply for its customers. The staff has all been vaccinated and were friendly, all containers were meticulously wiped down so that there was absolutely no leaking or mess, above average chopsticks and spoons were supplied. What a gem! Overall, Kimbaek is an absolute must try again!

Good food for good prices. Atmosphere is no frills. You can serve yourself water and tea (?). At least we did it and they have never said we can't. Food comes with sides. You can ask for a refill (sometimes they don't mention it), but it doesn't cost extra. Service is friendly. When I checked the website the menu looked out of date. I recommend the hot bulgogi soup. This seems to be the best deal. You get a decent amount of beef. Sometimes I'll have cravings for this. Really enjoyed the japchae as well. I'd skip #9 unless you're really craving it. Both me and my friend found it much less flavorful. The bowl was different than the other bowl and the serving size larger, but it looked less appetizing. 31 is pretty pricey and I didn't feel you got that much meat... That's the kalbitang.

I heard they had changed boss , the services used to be very delighted since I had came here for ganjatang almost 4years .now it's just simply terrible. The servant didn't service water just standing there pretending we are not sitting here. We finished our dinner and got no water . The most ridiculous is when I had my hot sauce on table , I still need it , the f**king servant just took it away , lol seriously ? Without asking my permission ? At least you got have to explain to me ? Lmao . It's so terrible BTW , they changed to use low quality rice instead of good rice . I can taste the different . You guys r ruining the best ganjatang in town name . No more this restaurant , terrible and...
