It was our 1st time at Leopolds. We ordered 2 Ceasars. I asked for a regular Ceasar with little ice. I got a Ceasar that looked like it was watered down severly. First sip, it tasted like water. It was completely full of ice to the bottom of the glass to which I'd asked for little ice. The waiter took it back to try again. As he was coming back, I could see the colour of the 2nd Ceasar was very brown, and not the clam juice colour. Again, it was completely filled with ice. The waiter asked me to try it. Yuk! It was horrible as I thought it would be after seeing the colour of it. I'm a caesar person, so I know what it should look like and taste like. For food, we both ordered the beef dip with house cut fries. As soon as he set the plate down, I knew the fries were so overcooked. I don't mind crispy, so I thought, ok, I'll try to eat these. Nope, they were hard as rock and all clumped together. Horrible! The waiter came by and asked how everything was, I just said ok. He said, "Just ok." So I told him the problem with the fries. Geez, you could just look at them and see that they were bad. The plates should have never left the kitchen. So, he offered to make a new plate, but it was too late for me. I just wanted to finish up and get out of there. We ate our beef dips, which were very small, but tasted good. $23 per plate for this. Not worth it even if the fries were good. Then another waitress came over, I told her we were ready to go. She came with our bill. She asked how everything was. So I told her about the 2 Caesars they couldn't make right. Then I picked up a French fry and tapped it on my plate to show her how rock hard they were. She was more than sorry and apologized several times. I told her it wasn't her fault. The 1st waiter should not have accepted our food from the kitchen to serve in the first place. If you are a waiter, you should look at the plate and only serve it if you think you'd eat it or if it's servable. First of all, the chef should never have let it leave the kitchen with those fries on the plate. Come on, man, you are supposed to be a chef. He also tried to accommodate. She took the Caesars off my bill and also, took -50% off our meal. So more than trying to make it up to us. She hoped we would give them another chance. I just don't think so. It was bad right from the 1st ceasar. They claimed the clam juice thing wasn't working properly. If the bartender or waiter had looked at what they served me, you could see it was mostly water. The 2nd Caesar, as I mentioned was more brown. It was obvious they tried to disguise with overdoing the spice and whorchestershire sauce. It looked bad, so why would you serve that. And the fries, anyone could see they were overcooked, why would you serve that. Would I try it again, nope, not going to waste my money. Worst meal and drinks I've had in a very long time. I rate a 1 only for the 2nd serverer who were trying very hard to...
Read moreI frequent this location often, but this last experience left me not wanting to return. My husband and I arrived around 1:45pm on Saturday March 1. We were told to sit wherever we wanted. After about 10 mins of waiting, no one had been by to see us, even to drop off menus. I ended up grabbing a menu off of the dirty table adjacent us. Our server finally came by about 5 mins after that (guy with long hair and glasses). We ordered our drinks. We were more than ready to order our food by the time he dropped them off, however he quickly walked away without saying anything after setting them down. We had to wait another 5-10 mins before he returned again and we could order. The food took a long time to come and when it did, none of it was fresh and seemed like it had likely been sitting in the window for a while. The sauce on my burrito bowl was sitting so long there was a film on top and the entire dish was lukewarm and overly salty (I’ve had this dish multiple times before). My husband ordered the clubhouse and fries. The fries were stale and cold and the bread on the sandwich was so stale it was cutting his mouth. We had waited a long time and needed to get going so we ate what we could of it. When they server came by a bit later to see how everything was, we told him it was “just ok”. Instead of following up to see what was wrong, he just walked away. We both left a lot of uneaten food and again no follow up from the server. As someone who works in the service industry, it takes a lot for me to complain, let alone leave a bad review. But this used to be one of our favorite places to come and I sincerely hope that this is not the new norm if we decide to visit again. There were a couple staff members sitting at the bar top working on their laptops (managers I presume). I couldn’t believe nobody stepped in to help when their team was...
Read moreI tried giving this location a fair chance but after our most recent visit I will never step foot inside the Henderson Leo's. A few months ago we waited over an hour for our food. We never complained. The manager did apologize to us and did give us free drink vouchers and free deep fried pickles for our next visit. Plus I do believe he discounted our bill. I was still displeased as I wasn't looking for any freebies, just good service. Fast forward a couple of weeks ago, and our table joked about us getting free drink vouchers again. I said no don't say that. Well....almost an hour later the server came to our table and apologized for the delay in our food. She said the reason was that they suddenly got a lot of skip order and it delayed our order coming out. That did not sit well with me but I said nothing. We continued to wait and eventually got our food. My fries were cold and my burger was luke warm. My son received his food 5 mins later. My girlfriend's order was completely wrong and dissapointed because she was looking forward to the dill pickle chicken burger. She even pointed to the picture when she ordered it. She didn't say anything because she knew I was already angry and didn't want me to make a scene. I left all my fries on the plate. No questions from the server if there was anything wrong. I was so dissapointed as I really enjoy the food at Leo's. I'm leaving this review in hopes that changes are made at this location so others can enjoy their visits
UPDATE- Since my review, Tim kept communicating with me via emails. He made a genuine effort to make things right. I felt he was sincere and accepted his apology for how our evening went. I do believe in the future we will be back and its all because Tim took the time to listen and make things right. In case anyone was wondering this was originally a 1...
