⚠️ BEWARE - HEALTH ALERT ⚠️ So I went to try the new Opa! on Regent Ave. yesterday. Got the Chicken souvlaki pita wrap combo with lemon potatoes on side. The potatoes were not out front with all the other food, so one of the staff had to go back into the kitchen to get them. After getting our food, I sat down with my daughter to eat inside. As soon as I opened my container, I got the STRONGEST smell of stale cigarette smoke! At first, I thought it was the gentleman at the table beside us, so we moved across the restaurant to another table. I then opened my container again, and had the same smell! I smelt inside the container and it REEKED LIKE CIGARETTE SMOKE!! It was absolutely disgusting! Also, the 3 small potato pieces looked old, dry, and shrivelled. I discreetly went and talked to the gentleman behind the counter. He seemed completely unaffected and dismissive, and just passed my container off to the older man (who seem to be a manager or owner perhaps.) Neither said one word to me so I asked, was I going to get fries or something else? All he said was, “We will bring it to your table.” The older gentleman came to my table with a container of fresh potatoes, which actually looked very different & there was no smell. I told him what had happened and he said “it was the lemon spices that probably smelled like smoke”. I immediately corrected him that it was DEFINITELY NOT spices of any kind - it was absolutely cigarette smoke. I know it when I smell it. It was SO strong & disgusting! He did not apologize and rather quickly just left. The rest of our food was alright I guess, definitely overpriced for the portions that you get though. It cost $22 for me and my eight-year-old to eat. It also took quite a while to get the food. I realize they were new so the kitchen staff wasn’t quite organized yet but I don’t think there was enough people cooking. Only one gentleman cooking and one to help prepare and this was at dinner time (6:30pm). There was quite a line up inside. Needless to say, I won’t be back to that location....
Read moreFood was very Bland, honestly a major disappointment especially For 25 bucks for a mega platter with 2 skewers. Skewers were decent but everything else was bland. Potato was dried and had zero flavor and tasted like a plain boiled potato with just a little yellow color. Greek salad had no dressing so had to use some of tzatziki and feta was thin as powder and one Kalamata olive in the whole salad, lol. Rice was the worst it literally was overcooked cheap rice with artificial chicken flavor like you would get in a soup mix except even worse. Meat was decent quality and meal overall fresh ingredients, just very bland and boring, and overpriced. I'm a big lover of Greek food but this is not that and at this price point there are tons of other fast food places or sit downs much more worth it. This place in summary reminds me of cafeteria style food from school at some of the highest price points I've had to pay for fast food. Make it make...
Read moreOrdered thru doordash. Food was alright I guess, but it was cold even though it was delivered 10 minutes after the driver grabbed it, and the tzatziki was watered down. Like there was water in my tzatziki. Gross dude. They also forgot my extra tzatziki, which in the end is better? Since I got my money back for my half water tzatziki. UPDATE: No jalapenos on my pita. I don't understand, when I went in the food was good? Do they need supervision to make food? Edit: I don't want you to "make it right" because at the end of the day, this is a trend that has been in place for your delivery orders. I won't be eating here again, even if you gave me a gift card or a free...
