Red Swan Pizza - Winnipeg St. Vital (Dakota) — Restaurant in Winnipeg

Edit: These guys have upped their game and I bumped up my review appropriately. I'm not sure if they were paying attention to their reviews four years ago, but they changed their menu to show sesame seeds and the actual pizzas shortly after I posted that complaint. Always nice to see people working to improve their services. Anyway, I get this pizza every now and then, and while I still usually ask for no sesame seeds, it is very good.

Old review from when they first opened: This was a bad pizza experience.

Firstly, my brother and I ordered and were charged for a pepperoni bacon & mushroom pizza but the pizza was delivered without mushrooms.

Second, the pizza looks nothing like the pizza pictures on the menu. The crust was thick like a cake and the bacon was crumbled instead of sliced side bacon as pictured on the menu.

Third, the crust had sesame seeds all over it. They tasted ok (kinda weird after the third or fourth slice) but this is not something I've ever had on a pizza crust and it was, again, NOT REFLECTED ON THE MENU.

Last and least, the pizza sauce is too sweet for my personal taste. Very similar to a Delissio sauce in the amount of sugar added.

Would have given 1 star except my brother and I ate the pizza. Would not order again unless they give the option of a less sweet tomato sauce, and actually take some pictures of the food leaving their kitchen for the menu instead of pictures of pizza...

I ordered a veggie pizza for take out and requested the pizza to be cut with a clean knife. I was in the store while the pizza was being made. The kitchen staff didn't bother changing their gloves before making my veggie pizza after they had just touched meat. This is pure cross contamination. The cashier was handling money and didn't wash his hands before starting to make a pizza. And to add to all of this, when my office colleagues started to eat the pizza, one of them chewed on something solid that looked and felt like a rock. I called up the store to complain and the staff was very rude, didn't even bother apologizing. I'm gonna call up the food health and safety office and filing a complaint with them. After giving then a 4-5 star rating, I will definitely have to downgrade it. The last two times, the pizza has been over-done. Not BURNT, but very close. Asking them to cook it less did NOT result in the nice pizza they had when they first opened. That is not acceptable. Flavour is OK, but not as good as when they first opened. Regular sauce has a hint of cinnamon, while the "no-sugar added" sauce has no cinnamon. I particularly sensitive to that. Also the last time I did complain about the over cooked pizza they said I would get a complimentary pizza, but that was not the case when I called in my last pizza order.
